Guest | Since the creation process is slowly but surely coming to the end, i figured id showcase my end of the deal. Inspired by such the fun of playing custom campains my best friend and I decided to get cracking and put something we could call our own. While hes busy in the confusing world of triggers i decided to fiddle around with the map editor and see what i can create. This is my first map ever made for warcraft 3 and its mean to be the playground for an rpg tha we are working on. I've got to run off to work now, if you guys want ill post some more pictures after i come back. And ofcourse any C&C is welcome. |

Guest | The map looks nice, but I suggest checking it with pathing turned on. I suspect you may have a few problems there. What I mean by pathing is that a lot of areas seem unaccessible right now. |

Guest | yeah some areas are only acessible to the smaller units ie grunts and such, but thats for strategy purpose, although i do believe some migh be uninentonally blocked and ill look into it, thnx, anybody else ? |

Guest | Looks nice for above, can u post a picture from the side so the height difference can be seen, And make sure u look at the post from "Heaven" he has a really nice trick for raising the max. height. ~Mephisto |

Guest | cool map, good work man. but you should make the trees at both sides, only at the left side looks strange |

Guest | Here is a side pic that gives you a better idea of the height, i also fiddled around with the mountain area so its quite different now, but anyways, thnx for the comments, its nice to hear the praises, and ill keep the suggestions in mind. ![]() |

Guest | btw some tipps with snowy woods: give the woods more height and the ways between less, it looks just good good good add more single and 3-tree-groups abit away from the other trees, looks more natural |

Guest | As far as what blood lust said. The forest are is basically a thick forest with a cut out pathway, but i guess thinkin it out a little bit and using smaller clumps of trees might add to the over all effect ill look into it, though it didnt bother me beofore, anybodyse else agree with blood ? And the high tees and low pathways, yeah i know about that, everybody and their mother is using it, so yeah im defenately putting it in :ggani: Anyother suggestions ? i really appreciate this guys, its helping me alot, considering this is my first map. |

Guest | Maybe its because its zoomed out so much but i cant see any roads... They're important to the general feel of a level! Ofcourse there is no roads in a forest in the outskirts, but there should be a main road somwhere... Hope it helps..! |

Guest | yeah actually your post is what inspired me to create mine. I defenately add a road, but besides that and thining out the trees any other suggestions ? here is an updated map pic, i added the pathways that so many ppl wanted and tweaked the right side of the map, i still need to work more detail into the river bed and keep working on the mountain, ![]() |

Guest | dude it looks awesome (!), only the right side is missing trees |
| 01-28-2003, 03:17 PM | #15 |
Guest | thnx blood, glad u like it. In my original plans there were no trees on the right side, but now that i look at it i think i does look somewhat empty, so i decided that ill probably add some northerland "leaf less" tress but noot too much. |
