A few of my early icons.

These are some of the better ones that I've done. I'm not really an artist at heart, but I like to think that I'm getting better.

1) Storm Knife: It is some kind of small blade that has an influence on the storms, or some kind of electric force.

2) Noxious Blade: A sword that summons/uses poison, of some kind. In a gaseous form.

3) Blood Spike/Bone Spear: An ivory spear like object stabbing something organic and probably mammalian.

I'll be adding more as I complete them, comment/critique desperately wanted.

The green one is neat. The other two are rather meh. I don't know why but they look kinda....undefined and contrast less?

Hmm. Lots of people seem to like the green one, while I myself don't even like it that much.

Thanks for the comments, and looking at the Storm Knife especially I see what you mean.

May I ask, what it is you like about the "green one", just to clarify.

I think is the fact that the blade is rather strong (aka, not shrouded by anything so it stands out) and the background really is interesting and fitting.

If the blue icon were more defined and the background direction contrasting the blade's direction (roatate 90 degrees) I think it would be better.

For me, the red sword seems to lack a definning point.

Well, the sword was intended to be bone, but yeah I'll agree with you there.

I don't have a layered version left anymore, so it's not going to happen, but the contrast/definition was an issue on this one. I used too large a brush for lots of it.

The red one could be a beam aswell.
The green one is very defined whileas the blue one, just as and which i already told you, could need touch ups.
