No. The Forsaken are an offshoot of the Scourge. They are Undead, and broke off from the Undead. Timeline-Time! Stop me if you think I'm wrong, I dare ya! :P - Burning Legion decided to "tenderize" the world of Azeroth by engineering the Scourge. - Kil'jaedan "made" the Lich King, who in turn mentally dominated/made plague/psychically enslaved people/creatures == Created the Scourge on Azeroth (the continent + world). ~Reign of Chaos campaign goes on...~ ~Frozen Throne, Episode 1~ - Arthas/Kel'thuzad/Sylvanas are playing Keep-Away with the straggling Human survivors trying to run away. - Lich King (due to earthquakes caused by Illidan + Eye of Sargeras) has cracked, power is leaking out, and thus HIS CONTROL OVER SCOURGE IS WEAKENING (<- major plot point, BTW) - Arthas runs to Northrend to save Lich King, Kil'jaedan plays Mommy in Lordaeron, while SYLVANAS EXERCISES HER NEWFOUND MENTAL FREEDOM and RALLIES HER TROOPS. ~FT, Episode 2 (? or 3?)~ Arthas barely makes it out of the city alive, but SYLVANAS (NOW IN CONTROL OF HER OWN MIND) AMBUSHES HIM AND ALMOST KILLS HIM. ~blah blah blah, FT episodes, Anub'arak, not important, etc~ - Sylvanas takes her group and tries to solidify her hold on Lordaeron; fights the triple-council of Dreadlords + gets Varimathras - Kills Detheroc + gets Garithos - Kills Balnazzar with Garithos' help, then stabs him in the back (using Varimathras). ~End cutscene of "kill balnazzar" level!!~ - SYLVANAS STANDS AMIDST THE WRECKAGE OF BALNAZZAR'S BASE (i.e. Lordaeron) AND PRONOUNCES HER AND HER ARMY FREE FROM THE SCOURGE, AND HENCEFORTH KNOWN AS FORSAKEN. iF THE eMPHAS... Oops, Caps Lock was on... If the emphasis wasn't enough, let me further emphasize the word "Henceforth" in the last line. Served? Quote:

If you're only going to have it with him, it should be a PM and I will lock this. |

Well, anyone is welcome to join in, but it was really about just one point of lore, so I don't know how valid that is. I guess, can you change the topic title (remove the "w/ Flame_Phoenix"), please? --EDIT-- Epic Fix'd. |

In the wake of Illidan's failed attempt to melt the icy continent of Northrend, the powerful energies possessed by the Lich King inside his Frozen Throne slowly began to decay. Inexorably this resulted in a partial loss of control of the more distant Scourge forces. The result was that many undead under the Lich King's mental domination had their conscious will restored. Their spirits and memories were somehow returned to their undead bodies. Kyrbio wins. |

Kil'jedan made the litch king. not sargeras. sageras is dead but his soul is in medhiev's staff which Kel'thezud is looking for. |

Oh, my bad. See, I knew Sargeras didn't sound right, but I went along with it. First Post Edited. Also, "yes" Sargeras is dead, but IIRC, he implanted his soul into Aewyn (sp?), the Guardian before Medivh (and his mother), and became incorporated into Medivh himself when he was born. (This connection between them allowed him (Sarg.) to take over for a period, making Medivh construct the first (few?) Portals to Draenor and let in the Orcs, originally). Is the "staff that Kel'thuzad's looking for" from WoW? |

Shouldn't this be in the good ol' lore forum?: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/forumdisplay.php?f=620 |

Woah, I don't think I've ever even seen that board... Too bad it's mostly dead, I love lore. :/ Yeah, you're probably right :P. I was just rushed, and threw it together before Dusk could delete the post. If any Admin wants to move this to a more appropriate location, that's alright. |

Just to clarify a few things:
And that's that, I hope this clarified a few things for you. ~@~ Oh and once more, there were no Forsaken on Northrend at the time of the undead campaign of TFT. |
