It doesn't really look like a Wc3 model is my concern. Looks heavily detailed and like a lot of it would be lost in the in-game camera. I'd recommend kicking it down a few notches, personally. Otherwise, lovely job as always. |

well animations will definitely follow, but as for making her less detailed Im not sure, Also I dont actually see wheres is this extra detail, the only thing is the "camo" thing in the pants and the snake... |

The snake's interaction with the neck has a lot of excess geometry. Unless that snake is planned to be fully animated (possible), then that whole area could be chopped down a bit. The head is also incredibly detailed, the hair even more so. I mean, check out a troll's in-game haircut. You've got so many more alphaed planes there, way more than even a troll hero would have. The feet too, no one is going to notice that it has two toes in-game. Also, in terms of the texture -- The snake's detail will be a blob in-game, all those extra patterns won't show at all. The camo, as you mentioned, won't be visible. That seems to be about it. |

well theres something that looks pretty in "block" models like war3, Ill see if I can get that, for the feet, the face, I dont think so, but Ill try to cut poligons in the hair and maybe use the normal troll hair although I cant imagine liking it that way, Ill see if it look ok. The snake is going to be animated. edit: forgot about the texture, well Ill see if it looks better without the detail, but as the snake skin has scales(the naga has them too) I think it'll look like a blob all the same(in that case Im not removing it), same for the pants. |

I'm not saying copy the in-game troll hair at all. I merely suggest that you go for something solid like that and then embellish it with a few alpha-planes to give her bangs and the like. I think it'd fit the whole WC3 thing much better that way. Also, looking at the sea witch, the snakes there seem a whole lot less texture-detailed than yours. I still think the feet won't be very noticeable in-game, especially if the animations have her standing in any way leaned over. Your call, though. Oh, and don't forget hero glow on the weapons. That's important. |

I'm no artist, but I would say that if it looked a little more like Then it would be much nicer, lower detail.

(Rommel here, if you still remember me ^^) I disagree with Rising_Dusk's about bringing this beautiful model to Wc3 standards, as I personally find low-polyness of many Wc3 models extemely ugly. Jigrael's models overall tend to have higher level of detail, and I'd say they fit perfectly for heroes and especially characters in cinematics. Jigrael, if you nevertheless decide to butcher the detail on this model, I strongly suggest you release a hi-poly version as well, as I find it nearly perfect the way it is now ^^ In particular, the hair is very WoW-esque in a good way and much better than regular troll mohawk in War3, Plus, since the model will be most likely combined with the portrait, face/head detail won't hurt ^^ |
