Aaaaah!!!!!
I love the "Who's Online" page; I never would have seen this, otherwise.
:P I was about to ignore it, but when I saw "Phyton Warrioress", I thought "oh cool! A sun warrior!". xD

*eyes bleed*

... All my other models are going to cry in unabashed shame at how low-poly they are compared to her. I think this may need a serious tone-down in detail, though (except maybe the face, because I know how you like to incorporate Portraits.)

And what my favorite part is, is how you went from this:
Quote:
A - Python Warrioress: Agility-based female with a huge snake and two axes.
- Serpent Blades (Autocast): Makes the Python Warrioress’ attacks deal bonus poison damage and, upon killing an enemy, drop enchanted skulls.
- Mamba Ward: Places a Mamba Ward on a target location. Enemies near the ward experience a 100/150/200% loss to their HP regeneration. Upon the ward’s death, it releases 5 Mambas, which will act as units for the troll. Mambas are very fast and have a venomous attack. Mamba Ward lasts 300/450/600 seconds.
- Coldblood Aura: During the day, grants nearby allies 10/20/30% movement and attack speed. At night, subtracts 10/20/30% movement and attack speed from enemies.
- Viper (Channeling): The Python Warrioress channels to summon forth three gigantic, mythical pit vipers from the ground. These vipers will devour and annihilate enemies within their reach.

That is the true power and grace of a great modeller.

So anyway. I'll be PMing further notes; main thing is, though, that the Jungle trolls are the "reptile fanatics" of Wc3.

Seriously. Great job, and I really appreciate you "randomly" freelancing for me as you have.

It doesn't really look like a Wc3 model is my concern. Looks heavily detailed and like a lot of it would be lost in the in-game camera. I'd recommend kicking it down a few notches, personally.

Otherwise, lovely job as always.

I agree with Dusk on this one... but really, she is frigging badass right now, and also...

well animations will definitely follow, but as for making her less detailed Im not sure, Also I dont actually see wheres is this extra detail, the only thing is the "camo" thing in the pants and the snake...

The snake's interaction with the neck has a lot of excess geometry. Unless that snake is planned to be fully animated (possible), then that whole area could be chopped down a bit. The head is also incredibly detailed, the hair even more so. I mean, check out a troll's in-game haircut. You've got so many more alphaed planes there, way more than even a troll hero would have. The feet too, no one is going to notice that it has two toes in-game.

Also, in terms of the texture --
The snake's detail will be a blob in-game, all those extra patterns won't show at all. The camo, as you mentioned, won't be visible. That seems to be about it.

well theres something that looks pretty in "block" models like war3, Ill see if I can get that, for the feet, the face, I dont think so, but Ill try to cut poligons in the hair and maybe use the normal troll hair although I cant imagine liking it that way, Ill see if it look ok.
The snake is going to be animated.

edit: forgot about the texture, well Ill see if it looks better without the detail, but as the snake skin has scales(the naga has them too) I think it'll look like a blob all the same(in that case Im not removing it), same for the pants.

I'm not saying copy the in-game troll hair at all. I merely suggest that you go for something solid like that and then embellish it with a few alpha-planes to give her bangs and the like. I think it'd fit the whole WC3 thing much better that way. Also, looking at the sea witch, the snakes there seem a whole lot less texture-detailed than yours. I still think the feet won't be very noticeable in-game, especially if the animations have her standing in any way leaned over. Your call, though.

Oh, and don't forget hero glow on the weapons. That's important.

I'm no artist, but I would say that if it looked a little more like

Then it would be much nicer, lower detail.
  • Pants + basket = same basic color (even the Headhunter pants would look good on her; add those kneepads for diversity).
  • Swords = less shading and darkness; more "generic steel", clean and clear. The tops are very black, though I really like the serration. :P
  • Is the bra-thing supposed to black, or team color? Maybe a little more in the way of armor would make sense, too... Maybe a couple hooks that would provide the snake a place to hang? Never mind, I just realized that was on purpose; the snake is positioned to act like more coverage. Schweet.
  • And yes, the snake should definitely stand out more. In fact, the green-color above isn't really so bad. Then a slightly darker shade of green for the scale-outline. That way, he would stand out more (Wc3 = cartoony)
  • ^Dusk: teamcolor weapons
  • ^Dusk: bangs + more solid hair
  • ^Dusk: no toes

(Rommel here, if you still remember me ^^)

I disagree with Rising_Dusk's about bringing this beautiful model to Wc3 standards, as I personally find low-polyness of many Wc3 models extemely ugly. Jigrael's models overall tend to have higher level of detail, and I'd say they fit perfectly for heroes and especially characters in cinematics.

Jigrael, if you nevertheless decide to butcher the detail on this model, I strongly suggest you release a hi-poly version as well, as I find it nearly perfect the way it is now ^^ In particular, the hair is very WoW-esque in a good way and much better than regular troll mohawk in War3, Plus, since the model will be most likely combined with the portrait, face/head detail won't hurt ^^
