I'm honestly surprised nobody has discovered this bug yet, or at least if they did, I can not find any information on it. It has annoyed me for some time, and took awhile to trace. It might be specific to me, but I doubt it because I tested by creating a new map and setting the values. My idea was to create a global chain lightning, with lots of jumps, 50 for the max level. But this is not going to be possible without coding my own version I suppose. Basically, if the maximum number of targets hit for chain lightning is anything above 33, then game will crash with a War3 error (memory could not be read) after the score screen. There is no actual crash during the game. I ran a few tests, set the number of jumps up to 300, placed 300 some units, and it seems to work fine. But when the game ends, its always a crash. The other values don't seem to aid in the crash, it's just that one. I've even set the cast range, damage, and area of effect to 100000000 and it doesn't seem to invoke the crash, just the targets hit. I was hunting for this bug for awhile, it was irritating seeing a crash every time the game was over. It does not seem to matter what level you set the number of jumps to above 33, it will crash. Figured I'd point this out if anyone else has ever faced an unknown crash in their map and used this ability. |

Most people dont use Chain Lightning... no particular reason, its simply not used... thanks for telling us though |

Rather interesting bug. I've heard of a few maps that suffer from end-game crashing. I'm not sure if they were related to this bug, but it's good to know its one of the causes. |
