Hero Contest #3 - Poll Results

Well, the third hero contest poll was tallied up and the results can be seen here. The following five entries will move on to the judging stages where they will be looked over for design, artistic, and programming qualities. The means by which the entries will be judged can be located in the original contest thread. You may continue discussion related to the heroes, their placing, and the contest itself in the discussion topic located here.

On a sidenote, does anyone else notice how, not only were a majority of entries Undead, but that 4 of the 5 finalists are Undead, also? :P

I think I finally made an achievement in the modding community =).
Though it would be a lot harder now since it's actually getting the over the top judging process, I will see if my coding skills are really up to scratch.

Also for Pyro <3, I knew your hero has potential.

Hey, that's right, you guys had something planned... What was the idea?

I went to extreme lengths to ensure that my coding was as modular, professional, and adherent to everything Vex took points off in the 2nd contest for. I hope I give him a run for his money, there. :p

Designwise and artwise, I think the two ranger entries are up in the air as to which is the better. (Vex has the obvious advantage in code) It's exciting to think about how the judging will pan out.

Seems alot of ppl favor ranger Heroes.

Wonder if that's down to, war3 generally having a lack of them, or ppl just simply love ranger Heroes. Perhaps a bit of both.

Art wise, I think that AR took home the gold. It was unique.

Or it just happens that the best entries just happen to be rangers?

Well, I have no art, so that's an automatic 0 for me. 5th place is way better than I expected, though, and I'm very pleased :D

Well, of all the teams with "pros" (coding pros like Vex, Dusk, Pyro, Anitarf, etc -- artist pros like Erwt, Whitehorn, AR, Mc!, jigrael, etc), the only teams with two "pros", who ended up submitting, were Vex/Mc! and Dusk/Jigrael. It was almost a given (IMO) that they were going to the end.

In fact, if TDR and TotallyAwesome had pulled through, I personally think those 2 other teams (Anitarf/TDR, Pyro/TA) would've been heavy contenders, as well. Same with a few others I have not mentioned; if Xombie is a good Coder, him and Whitehorn could've gone places; Here-b-Trollz is pretty good IIRC, and RDZ is proven gold, so same with them...

Etc. Maybe I thought too much into this? xD

Bah, nonsense. You have art... It's just placeholder. But that's better than 0. :P

Well, maybe a max of 10/100. It'll still be crippling to his end score. Even with perfect marks elsewhere, he probably won't be a contender for 3rd or higher. C'est la vie.

Granted. Though, given the nature of the contest, the 3rd slot is the only one up for grabs; that'll be quite the turnaround if he takes it.

Well, I can only hope.
