I think I finally got an Idea for a campaign! It's not related to pokemon or similar shows, or even based on movies. No. I think I have an idea. I'm thinking on starting a linear campaign about a guy named Albert, who returns from a supply run to a nearby village to find his farm utterly destroyed. Angry, he follows the tracks left by the raiders and... well... I've only thought that far. But! That won't stop me from putting together the first map. Hmm... should I finish said first map before asking for help? |

Best to ask for help after you finished at least three maps, posted some screenies to entice us and given me rep. But generic questions are accepted (no need for pep talk, just cut to the chase). |

You can ask for help when ever you want and im pretty sure people will post some answers. But i think your start is good. but can u add more details to it? |

Seems too typical imo, but that depends on what exactly Albert does afterward. |

Meh, I appreciate the fervor, but show us where it gets original. Also, nothing's wrong with taking some ideas here and there from movies/books/etc, as long as you modify or adapt them for your use. And don't make it too obvious. I mean, most creativity is recycled anyway; the best stories are the ones that make it all seem new and do it in interesting ways. (*cough* Avatar and Mistborn *cough*) |

You could have given us a more clear image because where you've left it is the deciding part of a story. From where we can see, he could have followed the tracks and found a casino or fallen asleep and had been attacked by murlocs or satyrs and tossed in a river x x. Perhaps you could flesh it out a bit more because we'd be making the story if we make an suggestions at the moment. Currently, it's a bit unoriginal. |

I think Albert should be caught by the raiders and be taken deeeeep in to the forest where he will be executed. When poor Albert can feel the blade touching his neck. When some outcasts will come and save his life. Albert tells them his story, they decide to train him because he cant face those raiders without training. And here you can introduce Albert and hes cool ability's. But i think you should make the map and ask for help at the same time. When your idea becomes something more you will get more ideas. |

I think Albert should find out that he actually has a powerful magical heritage (unleashed when he is about to be executed in said forest). Come to find out he's the only son of a Half-Elven (or whatever) lineage of people who end up as key figures in fights to save the world (Azeroth) across generations. *cough* Shannara *cough*. Mix it up. |

Aint that kinda cliché? But to work on your idea. Couldn't Albert's parent have died when he was young. And the only thing that was found besides Albert was a necklace. And this necklace proves to hold some of hes parents magic power and protects Albert at the last moment. After the necklace have protected him he faints and wakes up 4 hours later finding the raiders that took him to the forest are dead. And after that Albert starts having flashbacks about hes past. |

"Necklace"? The pansy. :P Make it some enchanted dagger, or talisman, or amulet. Not a necklace. :P Next he'll get his "magical broach", then his "effervescent slippers", and finally his "tiara of goodness". -_- |

Alright, I see what you guys are getting at. "Albert" is a placeholder until I find a more fitting name. He's already got himself a family and a farm when it gets destroyed. I already have part of the terrain (his farm, and a bit of the other farms), and will continue to work on that between school and Guild Wars. I'm currently trying to figure out how I can make the farm look destroyed since that's where the player starts (and he heads to town from there). I'm also thinking of killing him off partway through certain levels based on difficulty (i.e. during 2nd or 3rd if it's on Easy, etc), but that'd be a pain in the arse to test. I'm also thinking of a parallel campaign, but that'll have to wait. Currently using barrels as placeholders for destroyable fences. |

u could make it so its the family that adopted him when he was little @.o. i like where kyrbio0 said that albert finds out that he has a magical heritage, now that kind of campaign would catch my eye. I read alot of books and i like that idea.... (Only Sci-fi books, like The Sword of Truth, and "the Wizard Lord" it get ideas from thos kind of things but Still xD magical heritage, a wizard comes and sees in his eyes that he has some magical force within himself and it cuold be brought forth and demolish the people who have murderd or planned on sacraficing his townsfolks *i think its townsfolk to lazy to scroll up*. |

I finally have the first map mostly terrained, but not triggered. And as for the numbers on the attached image:
The screenshot uses the Village and Crops packs from xXm0rph3usXx, as well as Nasrudin's houses. |
