Sludge Experiment 1

Basically, you are a lowly Sludge Minion. Whenever you kill another one, you grow bigger and strong.

Current Features:
  • Variable Collision - as you become bigger, you take up more space - using only one unit-type.
  • Variable Range - as with the collision, your range is equal to you collision + target's collision + a little bit, without using upgrades.

The Variable Collision system also acts as a method to push units away, the bigger unit in all cases pushing the smaller units away. Health bars are replaced with floating texts with size similar to your collision size, and the camera automatically goes higher so that you can see your whole sludge.

At the moment, the map is nothing more than a test lab with auto-spawning sludges and only 4 upgrades. Feel free to edit this, use the ideas or even the triggers, ideal for a Spore Cell Phase map, or whatever else.

The map has a few significant flaws: inefficient triggering (which will cause lag when there are more than ~70 sludges on the map), the aspect of last hitting (the killing unit increases in size, and all other units that contributed get nothing for their efforts), terrible Neutral Hostile and bot AI (bots tend to inexplicibly gang up on human players and the neutral slots all do very random things).

More coming soon.
