Hi! I wish you could help me in my proyect. |

How do you feel about making heroes? I have a couple projects that are pretty much finished except they need heroes. I could also use some ideacrafting for a newer project I'm starting. That and I could possibly use some help if you're willing to work with a particle system. |

I'd be willing to learn a particle system but I THINK I am working on a RPG project atm, although the only person who knows anything seems to be me. Get at me on AIM/MSN/IRC sometime and we will talk it over. AIM - Darkmidget777 MSN - [email protected] or .net, i forget, i think .com |

Are you interested in making a multiplayer cinematic? |

By multiplayer cinematic what do you mean? o.O |
| 03-02-2009, 05:29 PM | #7 |
A cinematic that are viewable by more than 1 player at same time. If you are really too good in terrain, I could use your help. |

I'm not fantastic. I recently learned how to do alot of nifty things and am still improving. Over the last week though I pretty much doubled my JASS capability if not tripled it. Once I start working with Terrain I can say with more confidence I can be of absolute help :D. I'll show you an example here later on when I find time. (By later on I mean a week or so lol) |

Multiplayer cinematics are fucking idiotic (In a non-rude way) log:

Sounds great. I could do the scripting, although I might not be as good as you. Quote:
Before you said it was idiotic idea or whatever it was. I would give you a reason why multiplayer cinematic was better. 1) It can be watch by more than 1 player at the same time. 2) File size management - Considering that there is a file size restriction. You need to manage the file size to avoid it exceed 4mb (The max size allowed for battlenet). This would perhaps train your ability of utilize the usage of as little custom import as possible and yet at the same time able to create a high quality map. 3) Better download speed. No matter how big the file size of a multiplayer cinematic, it cannot exceed 4mb compare to singleplayer cinematic that doesn't have any file size restriction which resulted into ridiculous high file size such as 10-15-20-25 mb. 4) Upload capacity - Not every forum support the upload of a map with ridiculous high file size. At this site, if my memory serve me right. The max file size for a warcraft map was 5-6mb. So, if you make a map exceed 6mb. Can you submit your resources? What is the difference between a singleplayer and multiplayer cinematic? I guess I already explain it to you. The scripting/triggering of singleplayer cinematic and multiplayer doesn't have any difference either, but there is more challenge when it comes to making a multiplayer cinematic especially when you have to restrain yourself from the usage of imported resources. |

Actually, there isn't really any point to a multiplayer cinematic. You can't chat with other people during a cinematic, and with no interaction, the point of having multiple people watch it at the same time becomes absolutely meaningless. Which then makes the effort to set it up for multiple viewers worthless. Limiting the filesize doesn't make it a better map, it limits the possible resources. Battle.net is the wrong venue for cinematics, and upload limits are easily avoided by uploading it elsewhere (omgwhataconcept) and linking to it. Also saves on the bandwidth for the site :P |

Haha, I wasn't going to ask too much about it until I had the time to do it but it seems everyone else went through the trouble for me XD. Shadowwolf said basically everything I was expecting to say but meh. Wasn't going to judge until I talked with him. I may be busy now though. It depends on whether or not the person I am with finds some more people. And learn to get on AIM more Shadow you hoe. |
