The Team:Features:
  • A strategic campaign that features base construction, unit training and attack strategies where you play as the Orcish Horde during the Second War.
  • Two entirely new techtrees for the Orcish Horde and the Alliance featuring custom units such as ruthless Ogres, arcane Mages and undead Death Knights.
  • Like the original Warcraft II, this project includes naval battles and transport ships that can carry your troops across large bodies of water.
Gameplay:
As mentioned above, the campaign will be a strategical one where you need to construct bases, harvest resources and train armies to defeat your enemy. So that part is rather similar to Blizzards Warcraft 3 campaigns. However, one of the big differences is that in my campaign, you will almost never begin with a base other then a Great Hall and a Pig Farm at best. I believe this is good because in Blizzards campaigns on later missions, you began with almost all necessary buildings up to like Tier 2. That way, you never needed to build Grunts/Footmans or almost any other T1 units a could get Taurens/Knight almost directly. But in my campaign, you will need to build a base from scratch and you will need to train those T1 units, as they are the only ones available in the beginning. The result will be that all units will be usable and not only the heavy T3 ones (such as Taurens and/or Wind Riders).
Techtrees:

Neato. I like the terrain. Is this the same one as for the Hive contest?
02-24-2009, 09:24 PM#3
Linaze
Well that was kind of the intention from the start, but I'll never finish it in time before the Hive contest concludes.

Never, say nev-er...

So is this after Warcraft I or II?

After Warcraft I and during Warcraft II.

Ah.

Wait a second, I thought you were doing the Stormreaver clan?

Well I'm not, not anymore, that is. :P
Anyways, heavily updated/changed the first post.

Wow, great Ogre skins! Where did you find them? (Maybe I can find an use for them in my project...)
03-07-2009, 06:55 PM#9
Linaze
The regular Ogre skin is made by AnemicRoyalty (as stated in the first post) for the Hero Creation Contest #2. The blue version was recolored by AnemicRoyalty for use in my project, if you ask for them nicely, then perhaps I could consider sending them to you.

Dunno, before that I must consider if I need them... :P

I'll let you know if I need them, I think in that case I'll use the Reppy asking. XD

Mechmap
The ogres look really good and I've always liked a story-driven campaign. Hope to see this finished but it was during warcraft II that Gul'dan left the horde to chase Sargeras' Tomb right? If so, perhaps you should do a bonus mission available after some mission handling getting the stormreavers and twilight hammer back, featuring yourself as Gul'dan and his warlocks searching for the tomb?

Pretty nice terraining matyko btw. Guess you're working on the techtree also? You're techtree for the hives first techtree contest was awesome.

@Michael Peppers, just let me know if you do need them.

@Mechmap, Matyko is only doing the terrain, I am doing triggers, techtree etc. by myself. The above screenshots are outdated, btw. Matyko is working on a new terrain.

Ok, Reppy asking! Send me some horde power! XD (pleeze...)

EDIT:
Arrived, thanks!

The Grey Knight
lol...the ogres have nipple piercings. i dont really support the use of blizzard's cliffs, but the terrain looks suitable.

about the bases thing, does that mean at mission 1 you'll be able to access all the units in your techtree?

Linaze
As said above, Matyko is working on a new terrain, so those screenshots above will be changed in near future.
And no, just like in Blizzard campaigns, the units will be made available on different missions of the campaign.
