Is it possible to rotate special effects? I want to use Shimmering Portal as a special effect, but it's always at a default angle. Is there a way to change its angle? Also: If you attach a special effect to a unit and remove the unit from the game, but not destroy the special effect, does it still leak the special effect? |

Rotate it in which plane? You'll probably have to edit the model. It will still leak. |

A special effect system by Vexorian (xefx, I think) allows for the rotation and inclination of special effects. It does this by attaching a special effect to a unit with a discreet model, and adjusting the unit, thereby adjusting, too, the special effect attached to it - this is hwo I think it works. It also affords special effect location (along x-, y-, and z-axes) adjustment. |

You don't need a system for that. Simply make a unit with said model, create it where needed, and rotate at will. Pretend you're making a dummy caster, except instead of no model, it has the model of the SFX you want. |

why not attaching an effect to a dummy ..and then just rotate the dummy ?! |

Yeah, I was going to just attach a special effect to a dummy unit, but I did the smarter thing and made the dummy unit's model the model I was going to use as a special effect. No point in making a unit AND a sfx. Problem solved guys. |

well thats ok when you have only few effects you want to be rotated ...if you got lots of them the "dummy unit + effect" method needs much less work |

Yeah, that's obvious, but this is a single effect. Check my spell14 submission if you want to see what I did. |
