I asked myself what is the exactly meaning of "JASS".
I heard of j-Asynchron-Scripting-Syntax ... but is this true? And why should there be of all things a 'j' O.o

I see, but why J? It could also be something like Lass, Mass, Dass ... ;D
I am sure that there is a deeper sense

I'd prefer Just Another Scripting Synthrax, to reflect its poisonous nature. :P

I thought JASS stood for Java with Assertions.

Yea, "Just Another Scripting Syntax" makes much more sense considering war3 maps by default are named... everybody knows this.

No; it really is because ASS sounds strange. In fact; the proper name should be ASS2 because it's the posteccesor to ASS; which blizzard decided to add a J- prefix to, perhaps for good reason? [Boss walks in: "Nice job on the ASS coding today!"]
