Fable Fight: Brainstorming Session

It is time once more to call upon the creativity of this community. I havn't done so in a long time, but right now i need a little boost of creativity that you guys are always ready to provide, so hear me!

I'm working on a little project of my own. It most likely won't ever be a warcraft 3 project, but with some luck it might turn into a starcraft 2 project or even better yet, a standalone.

The gameworld is going to provide a new and skewed look on common, well known, mostly european fairy tales and folklore. It'd going to take all those existing stories and dump them in one big world, or "universe" if you will.

As you can imagine this world will be populated by a rich cast of characters, but theres a catch. The "celebrity" characters such as snowhite, little red ridin' hood, prince charming... Those won't be the ones you play with. The characters you will actually get to play with will be fairy tale should have beens. They might have deserved a tale of their own, those stories have just never been written down.

This is where you all come in. I would like you guys to help me brainstorm possible characters. These characters could be anything. They could have something to do with a well-known tale, like prince charmings no-good emo brother, or even an evil stepsister. They could also be characters that come from completely new tales. The third option are characters that are a twist or spoof upon existing characters.

Some examples would be:
The Sleepless Beauty,
Greedy, the 8th dwarf,
Rat-in-Boots.

What these characters need are a background story and especially battle-capabilities. As the working title suggests these guys will be duking it out, so they need ways to fight.

The battles they fight will be mostly team-based, so some might be more offensive, some defensive, and some might be supporters.

Important notice is that aside from the regulair resource to cast spells like mana, they'll have a recource that dynamically changes as spells are being cast, that will make the character more effective as it stays in battle longer.
All units will have a certain amount of default offencive and defencive capabilities, such as mellee or ranged attacks, parries, shield blocks, that sort of things.

EXAMPLE:

Mortimer, the Wizards Stove.

Background:
Mortimer was created by a very lazy wizard, to help him around the house. Being an animated stove, Mortimer is both a cook and a helping hand.
Mortimer looks like an old-style furnace or stove with hands and a teapot for a head.

Gameplay:
Mortimer would be a stirdy character that can take a lot of damage.
His power would come from "heat". Some spells might increase his heat, making his fire spells more effective.

Examples of abilities:

Flame Buffet:
A big flame shoots out of his furnace, damaging units in front of him. Deals more damage with more heat, and reduces heat.

Boiling Pot:
Heats up the furnace, dealing damage to mellee attackers. Attackers with iron weapons will have their weapons melted, reducing damage dealt for a while. Increases heat.

Final Serving:
Explodes the furnace, dealing massive damage to anyone caught in the explotion. Mortimers furnace is reduced to rubble, taking some time to recover. Exhaust all heat.

Body Slam:
Bumps its body against a target enemy, dealing damage dependant on armor strength and stored heat.

Steaming Tea:
Gives target allie a serving of tea, recovering its health over time. After pooring a cup, Mortimer needs to heat up a new batch, decreasing heat generation for a while.

etc.

----

I'm looking forward to seeing some totaly rad suggestions, and i'll be keeping track of this thread throwing some ideas of my own in here and there to steer direction. All i can say is get wild, be creative, and most of all dont be bound by the ways of warcraft 3.

Greg, the Not-So-Bad wolf.

Background
After going through a few years in prison and anger management after the vicious destruction and slaughter of the "3 little pigs", apparently over illegal drug trafficking, Greg has changed and now prefers to paint... But who knows, maybe that old Huff 'n' Puffer could come out again some day. There's also rumors that have circulated regarding Greg's fetish of dressing as old ladies.

Gameplay
Greg's abilities would mainly be epic destruction and knockbacks associated around his epic breathing abilities. However, his mana/energy stores would be low and drained easily. However, he has a bit of a temper that can be tamed/released, changing how he works.

Examples of Abilities

Hurrikin (spelled wrong on purpose) Winds:
Channeling ability. Blows a raging blast of air, slowing enemies to a near-halt and damaging buildings in its path. If he's raging, he drains energy much quicker but enemies are damaged and blown backwards.

Anger Management/Get Pissed:
Tames/Rages Greg. When he's in a rage, his air abilities grow much stonger, but he loses energy much quicker, as well as being much stronger. When Tame, his abilities tend to be more docile but non-aggressive abilities become extremely effective.

Calming Breath:
If used while Raging, switches to Tame.
After a short casting time, Greg's health and armor are temporarily improved. When Tame, the effects are increased greatly.

Pigs to the Slaughter:
If used while Tame, switches to Raging.
Lures enemies in with a "knock knock knock" and then deals large amounts of damage. If Raging, enemies will bleed.

Old Lady:
Greg garners his Old Lady costume and poses, stunning enemies who spot such a horrendous sight.

Huff and Puff:
When used while Tame, can be held for a duration but at slightly less damage. When used while Raging, it's only a single blast of air but at much more damage.
Greg unleashes a blast of air that is especially powerful against buildings, but dependant on their size and armor.

NOTE about Greg: Greg has 3 states. Tame, Neutral, and Raging. Neutral state is achieved if nothing sets him off into Raging or calms him to Tame after a period of time. His abilities do not gain/lose any extra effects when Neutral.

Enjoy. <3

It's "fray" (in your signature). Also, sounds interesting; if I can think anything up, I'll certainly post it.

Big Bad Bunny Foo Foo

character

The older brother of little bunny foo foo. Insane, violent and gigantic, didnt bother with mice. The Good Fairy threw Big Bad Bunny Foo Foo out of the forest for doing terrible things to the forest creatures and little bunny foo foo (this, and BBBFF's abuse, is why little bunny foo foo has anger problems).

After he left the forest, BBBFF beat up various Big Bad Wolves and took their place, but ended up killing or driving off all of the forest creatures in the area. Mysteriously gifted with a demonic stomach and cursed with a ravening hunger, BBBFF eats everything he can.

Appearance

Black and White speckles.

Massive black, floppy ears.

A nose that never stops sniffing.

Very very fat... sickeningly fat

Abilities

Devour: devours something...

Cloak of Lard: BBBFF is enveloped in so many layers of lard, he doesnt even feel most attacks

Bop: Bops something on the head, killing it and spewing its innards over a wide area, creating easy to munch food for BBBFF to eat

Never in my life have i heard of this bunny. I looked it up on the internet but couldnt find strong sources to back it up, appearantly its a small rhyme, something like that? Not enough to deviate an antire character from.

I'm saving this in my reference database though, boppin' field mice might make for a nice little sidequest, so thanks :)

Dude, Little Bunny Froo Froo is a legend of fables! :P Hopping through the forest, scooping up some field mice, and bopping 'em on the head... Ah, memories.

We had/have an entire tape cassette of his story. Rhyme my face.

Would the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk count? He's from a fairy tale, and you could make up his background (since he lived in a castle with his wife before Jack raided him). Abilities could be general giant abilities, like stomp or whatever you think of.

the queen of hearts from alice in wonderland or the grinning cat or the guy with his clock...

Ia (the donkey) from Winnie Poo (is that a fable?)
