Dalaran Stand

Dalaran is overrun by the Undead. The few remaining Mages have established pocket defences with the help of visiting heros and civilians throughout the city, staving off Arthas' forces until help, in any form, arrives.


Genre


Dalaran Stand is a combination of Hero Siege and Team survival mechanics. Teams of four heroes fight off waves of enemies, surviving for as long as possible

Gameplay

Teams of four heroes survive against increasingly powerful waves of enemies, random spawns between enemies and random, incredibly powerful bosses.

Each wave consists of 8 units and one Hero boss.

Hero abilities have a cumulative value of ten points, and heroes gain levels very slowly.

Every two waves, a very powerful hero boss will attack your team, awarding extra experience, but posing a more serious threat

Enemies will spawn randomly around the heroes throughout the game, supplying extra experience and a greater threat

As long as at least one member of your team is alive, your heroes will continue to respawn.



Features

11 (many more to come) unique heroes require strategy, synergy and teamwork to be effective

Choose from 2 (more to come) playfields.

Heroes level very slowly, be prepared for a real fight

simple, moody terrain adds feeling to the game without creating lag issues for slower computers

Testing

This is an alpha version of the map, so only a few heroes and playfields are available.

Ideas and criticism are welcome

only 25 levels are currently in the game, but i haven't made it that far yet...

Items will be available in the full game, they havnt been implemented yet, they wont be difficult and are not integral to the functioning of the map at this stage

Many heroes use Blizzard spells, because i really like Blizzard spells and intended this map to focus on using the spells effectively, something which most maps do not require to the same degree. All heroes do have at least one custom spell (excepting the Blood Mage and Arch Mage), but, frankly, not using the Blizzard spells would be a waste and defeat the purpose of the map.
