Converting Flying Unit Models into Structures

Hello;

For my map I would like to use a stationary Obsidian Destroyer as a kind of tower; it is important for other players to be able to locate the Destroyer through the fog of war, and so it was necessary for me to convert this unit into a structure. I was disappointed to learn discover that upon checking the category "Is this unit a structure: y/n?" the 'Movement Height - Minimum" and "Maximum" categories were no longer in effect for the Destroyer: that is, regardless of how high I set the unit's elevation, it is fixed to a static point that looks quite strange because it intersects with the terrain.

I have tried this process with other units and find that it is confined to models that are intended to be flying units only. I have tried modifying the unit's elevation using triggers and by changing the unit's movement types to no avail. The only progress I've made with this issue comes from modifying the "Art - Elevation - Sample Radius" category, but doing so compromises the unit's ability to attack and animate smoothly.

I apologize for the block of text, but what I am asking is this: is it no longer possible to change the elevation of a flying unit's model once the unit that uses the model is converted into a structure?

Thank you for reading.

Hm, I'm not sure about all your findings, but I am fairly certain that structures can't have flying heights.

Have you considered simply creating a small region around the building that has vision through the fog of war for all the players?
