Extracting campaigns files from the MPQ can be done? how would i go about this? are they screwed up once extracted? I assume Blizzard used raw JASS to script the campaigns... |

I believe you can extract campaign files without problem. If I remember correctly, the triggers are made in GUI. To extract them, you need an MPQ editor, which can be found in the resource section. The campaign files for RoC can be found in "war3.mpq", and the TFT campaign files are in "war3xlocal.mpq". |

There doesnt appear to be anything of the sort (which can be used for this purpose, or was intended to be used for this purpose) in the resource section does imageextractor work? also, im looking for the terrain, not the triggers, Blizzard has some awesome dungeons |

Magos' extracts the maps, tried to extract a bunch of them searching for the "Dopefish Altar" and it worked. I don't know other tools that are able to extract campaign maps from the .MPQs, though |

"Dopefish Altar"?? |

Well... Dopefish is a monster in Keen 4... I've seen Dopefish's page of Wikipedia (actually I don't remember how) and I found some infos elsewhere that said this was placed in the map where Tyrande frees Illidan from the prison. But I've been disappointed, the "Dopefish Altar" doesn't resemble at all a Dopefish... (or maybe I haven't seen the map with the attention needed to find it?) |
