I have a whole list of models made for 3dsmax, that, since my license expired, I cannot open and look at. They're all from Ominous Horizons, and while I've already released them, I haven't seen anything done with it >_<, and need at least one model... Anyway, I say this because I need a UVWrap made of this model (and/or others, if requested), and I can't do it myself. Not sure this is the right forum (this could be a 'request'...), so my apologies. I think it/they were made for 3dsmax 5, so I'm not sure you can open them with higher versions. (also, I've only attached the Troll thing I need, but if anyone is interested in screenshotting some Tauren stuff, I'd be happy to oblige). |

any thing made in earlier version is forwards compatible. going back you sometimes have to export. i would volunteer but I'm very bad at finishing things; if you can't find any one else I'll give it a shot. also, your such a good kid, your trial expired and what do you do? |

Although getting it --> mdx would be neat, too. Quote:

yeah but if the unwrap is going to take longer then about five minutes I'm liable to screw up and have to restart, that gets boring fast. and keygens, if you can find one without a virus, are so much simpler. i don't think you're very likely to get in trouble if you used one on an older version, say 9 or earlier. course they can still sue you. and of course, this is all very, very bad and illegal and you should never do it :emote_rollseyes: |

is his back pack going to fall of or the torches or bottles in it going to be used in any animations? |

I can't imagine why it would fall off... Do you mean, will it be modified in any way (used in animations, morphed with GeosetAnims) or something? I suppose it would be "used" in his Attack/StandReady animation (drawing a torch from the backpack), and feasibly from a Spell animation, perhaps. Otherwise it would stay static, I suppose. |

i wondering if i can optimize the parts that are on his back and if it falls off when he dies it'll show |

Well, when he dies, it might as well fall off (I suppose). Then again, with all the stuff he's carrying, it'd be cooler (and no doubt easier) to just make him explode when he dies, ala the Batrider. :P |

well should i leave them or not then? |

Leave the backpack? I don't know; do whatever is easier. I think it makes sense to have him explode, though, so it doesn't really matter (as long as it all disappears, dropped backpack or not). Just curious, what's wrong with the backpack that it's having these issues? |

The red face are on the inside of the backpack which is against his back. if the backpack never comes off his body then i can get rid of them but if you're unsure I'll leave them. the yellow circles are places I've already optimized. |

Oh! You decided to try your hand at optimizing him// turning him to an .mdx. Neat, thanks. :P Ok, that makes more sense (pictures speak a thousand words and all that); You might as well remove them; I see no reason his back pack could come off or be seen from the inside. So what does that do, exactly? |

reduces lag when there are somehow 20,000 of him on screen on bad computers. and it's just a good idea. whats the grey thing going to be, it's z fighting |
