Removing ground level water

Is there any way to remove water that you place on the ground by raising ground level one then then applying shallow water to the raised terrain? + rep to anyone that know how to get rid of that "ground water".

try

-> check ( advanced - enforce water height limits )
-> put a cliff on that spot
-> remove cliff
-> uncheck the thing
