Heavy Turret

Goblin\Dwarf Heavy Turret, a turret consisting of 3 cannons attached to each other, connected to a triangular base by a rotateable hinge.

Using my brothers "Pirate Cannon" toy as a reference(hes 5 years old).

Its semi-scratch made, I started off with a pyramid, later merged a cube and a torus. I cloned, moved, rotated, scaled and extruded those basic primitives in Vertex Modifier, to create the base and the "hinge". The cannons are from Steam Tank, the "rings" on them are toruses, rotated and scaled to fit. I yet have to create the thing connecting the cannons and the hinge, then to remmap the whole thing to fit with some dwarfish textures, then finally animate it from scratch.

Heres the current model in comparison with my bro's toy:

I think you've gone over-board with the trim detail, there's no way that's going to show in-game (and even if it does, it won't match everything else).

I wanted to make it as much the same as the toy, and besides... it would look so plain and noobish without the trim.

I'm not saying remove the trim entirely; I'm saying add Warcraft-style trim.

Hmm... I'm not entirely sure what you mean... Do you mean to just add it as a part of the texture, without extra polys?

Something like the following is perhaps more appropriate for Warcraft. Examine models in-game that are similar to what you want to achieve.

I still don't quite get what you mean. The drawing, what part of the model is drawn in there(if at all)?

You don't recognise the top of your own pyramid on the left? It's not exact, but see how useless all the little slices are? The fat, wide and sloping bulge on the right will be much more distinctive in-game.

Well, dunno... I don't think that 'fat, wide and sloping bulge' will fit that much, but I will see what I can do, at a later stage. Anything else that could be changed?

I don't really like the wrap on the base, and as you can see, for some reason, the Pyramid is incorrectly shaded(as though as it was inverted, like, the pyramid we see is from the inside, and the other side is the outside of it. I don't know what caused this, but I would really like to know how to fix it, if someone knows. Thanks in advance. Also, the trimming is phailish...

Ohh, also - yellow parts are team color.
