What terrain type do you think would fit well?
(Excluding dirt & rough dirt from Sunken Ruins and never grassy dirt from Sunken Ruins as it looks crap)

Sand from sunken ruins, or rocks only perhaps.

using sand and occasionally some of the sunken ruins "City" Tiles, the rest is fixed with doodads and fog

I like the Sunken Ruins' grassy dirt.
Anyway, what Gyro said is right. If you want a rock texture, the rock from lordaeron summer works well. Lordaeron Fall has that orange tint, and winter has a blue tint.

Okay, but why do you like that grassy dirt? It seems like pollution to my eyes..

Just go with the dirt from the sunken ruins, and add some seaweed, some under water terrain formats and whatnot.
