Under some strange circumstances I stumbled upon this accidently while testing out some various stuff. Anyway... Give a unit barrage. Give a unit Lightning Orb, which has a 90% chance to use the effect "Purge" (The default effect). If lightning orb procs, it will purge the target. If lightning orb does not proc, it will use barrage. Congrats, you now have a 10% chance to barrage when you attack, and a 90% chance to purge. Just change purge to something that has no effect at all (eg a 0 damage lightning spell). It's not fool proof, but it is an interesting find. Furthermore, if you make purge have a 10 second cooldown, you'll have a 90% chance to have "barrage for 10 seconds". If you change the lightning orb properties around a bit, you can get really funky with the behavior. Set the chance for lightning orb to proc on heroes 0% of the time, and all else 100% of the time. Give purge a 0 second cooldown. Change your barrage effect to target only non-hero units. You now have a unit which, when attacking heroes, also attacks one nearby non-hero unit. I have not tested this at all when using more than one lightning orb. You can probably get some really crazy scenarios going. Just imagine, you have a 10% chance when attacking a hero to give the ability to hit up to 5 nearby units, 25% of the time. |

Nice... and useful... let me rep you for this find :) Also... this gave me more ideas than a brainstorming session, I may re-start my project. Whee! :D |

I wouldn't restart anything based on this alone, remember there will be caveats. If a unit doesn't attack, it never uses lightning orb, thus will barrage every time. If the target of the unit's attack is say... a building, it will barrage every time. It's something to delve into further but it's no Pulitzer prize winning story. |

Of course, this find needs to be experimented to find its limits, (since there'll surely be) but, hey, this gave me 3 first-class ideas. I have to check if they're feasible, let's say this... even if only one of them works correctly, the +Rep is totally deserved. I'm not shouting "Miracle!", but I see this idea has lots of potential. |

i like ur exclusion approach with the 'abuse' or orb of slow/attack mechanics. |
