Reproducing Blizzard Battle.Net Avatars

Hey guys, so heres the problem; I want to make new avatars in the same style as the battle net avatars.

EG:

They pretty much just show the stand animation of the unit on a coloured backdrop.


How would you make more of these?

A) Use a program to record the units portrait animation ingame (Which program?)
B) Use an MDL viewer to play and record the units portrait stand animation.
C) Any other option?

EDIT: Ahha! Found a screenshot that shows exactly what i want, from the MDL viewer thread: Here.
If i can find out exactly how to make stuff look like that, and record the animation, then I should be set ;)

the angle you could ue the camera manager on model editors, and just use fraps.
