Hello!

BBoy Tiger and I are working on a map project. We already have some pretty good team members. At the moment we are stuck with developing the map because we need a few team members.

This will be a pwning project. Anyways, here's the review of the project:

Wc3 Project Review

Map Type
  • generally a BattleArena
  • but there will be other elements as well

Gameplay
  • it's generally a fast paced tactic PvP game with other elements on the side

Features
  • wide selection of original spells, characters, items, modes etc.
  • advanced spell and item systems
  • advanced visuals
  • teaming ingame (3v3v3, 4v4v4, 6v6, maybe even more if RtC gets fixed)
  • fast paced gameplay, teamplay, various tactics
  • user-friendliness

General Project Info
  • everything will be coded in vJass
  • all the ideas in the map will be made originally by our team

Few Map Details

General
  • the map size will be 128x128
  • each team will have its mini-base (usually at the map corners, depends on how the teaming is set) where they will be able to shop, learn skill etc.
  • there will also be a battlefield, where the players will fight
  • at the beginning of the game, each player will choose its character
  • the camera will be locked on that character
  • players can vote for various modes
  • two ways of winning (this segment is open for discussion):
    - capture the most points (by "capturing" the opponent's mini-base)
    - eliminate all the other enemy players (in a certain time period)
  • when a team is killed, it loses points, and the killing team gets them
  • team capitulation is also possible, then the team doesn't lose points (but the other teams still gets them)
  • towers will also be included in the game
  • there will be random creep waves (random spawning place, random creep types), including bosses
  • there will probably be three concepts included in the gameplay:
    - battlefield (fighting with oponent players)
    - hero survivor (defending allies from creeps)
    - hero defense (preventing creeps from reaching a certain point)
  • there will be various damage types and resistances
  • many combat features included: attack/spell critical, piercing, blocking etc.
  • a whole new dimension is added to hiding and ganking

Imports
  • custom models and icons
  • custom interface

Terrain
  • terrain will probably be triggered (it can change during the game)
  • it will contain advanced visual effects
  • UTM will probably be used, as we need really good terrain presets

Spells
  • each character will have a wide selection of spells
  • there will be a special spell system
  • spells can be upgraded

Items
  • items won't be regular, there will be a special item system that hold only certain item types (books, scripts, diamonds, even skills)
  • items can affect both attack and spells
  • items can also be upgraded
  • summoned units won't be able to be controlled, but will follow the master hero (this is still open to discussion)

Heroes
  • no healing heroes
  • heroes will not have ordinary stat points (as in strength, intelligence and agility)
  • there will be a multiboard displaying various hero data
  • playing this game will certainly require skills in various fields
  • hero will have more than 10 levels (ofc)

Current Team Members
  • tiger_cro Project Leader | Systems Support | Description/Animation/Gameplay/SFX Details
  • Serbianbeast Terrain | Systems Support
  • Silvenon Jass | Spells | Systems Creator
  • Bruno Icons | Pictures Creator
  • E1ysian Description and Story Support

We Need
  • a modeler
  • an animator (animating models)
  • a terrainer (the more, the better, for making terrain presets)
  • a sounds & music guy (works with game music and sound effects)
  • a story writer

The team members we currently need the most are the animator and the story writer.

A note to terrainers: unfortunately, there will be small limitations, you can terrain as many things as it's possible to reproduce with triggers. But the UTM models are allowed and welcome!

A note to modelers: usage of in-game textures is required as the model sizes must be minimum (around 100 KB)

Everyone who wants to join the project must provide a few links of his work. If we decide to accept him, he will be introduced with the rest of the project. Every team member will be treated with a great deal of respect and is allowed to comment and suggest anything that might improve to the project. Fun is guaranteed

If your project genre starts with 'probably a...', then you're not at the point where you need a team.

Ok, I removed that first "probably a".

Project is very detailed. so there is no "maybe", "probbly" or "I'm not sure".
This project is very serious and we are trying to make the game smooth and fun with lots of content and choices and to be able to play different tactic every game.

Ok, I don't think people will even want to look at a project that doesn't have a name or a story, so this might be screwed up a bit.

We need a story to receive members, but we need members to create a story. Fuck.

Well, I'll bump this a few times, but we should start looking in other threads to find people we're looking for, then PM them.

Also, this thread doesn't follow the rules much.

Today i was talking with one guy and he wants to write a story so bad... I'll tell him to make a story. Its not hard to make a story from what we have... its quite special map and can have quite good story.

Nah ppl like to see pictures or an example how would game look like...

Maybe its a better idea just to write that we need modeler...

Yeah, I was really planning to add a pic or two, but I really didn't know what to add. A few character concepts? Or I should make something that looks cool and it may not be in the game at all? But I still don't know what.

We're gonna make a second attempt after a month or so, but we have to be careful not to break a rule.

Should we double thread or just edit this post?

You can talk with Silvenon, he will replay to you. He is vJass coder so... we have quite good progress over here. Its a big project so... we have to fill all fields. Currently we lack of model makers. Anyway I will probbly repost this topic...

@familia
Send me some examples of your work (PM me), so I can see if your skills are good enough.

My library is not done so let me finish it first. But for that I need some one to help me because the grimoire and the jass helper of my JNGP don't work anymore. :(

PS: You can see my problem in the JNGP tool topic on the last page.

It doesn't have to work, I just want to see your coding level.
