What needs to be done?

So, I know this is a loaded question, but what needs to be done to ensure that your map will work with the patch? I am using the Caster System and spells from this site. I am also using the NewGen editor.

I have tried installing the latest patch, but NewGen gets unrecognized syntax errors.
