SPELL MAKING SESSION #15

The point of this, and all other spell making sessions, is to give all spell makers a challenge along with a specific theme. You will as a participant submit a single spell based around the given theme. Winner will be decided by public vote, using the schulze voting system.

Rules:
  • You can use JASS / GUI / WEU / vJass / Anything else that you want for your spell. (Specify in the test map and entry post)
  • The spell you enter must be new and made specifically for this contest.
  • Everybody is allowed and encouraged to enter, as long as they follow the rules.
  • Please post info and WIP screenshots of your spell while you are making it to get more activity in this thread.
  • Imported models are only allowed if they are used for very minor things. (A particle emitter or ribbon emitter could be acceptable)
  • Submitted maps may be no larger than 500kb.
  • One entry per person.
When your spell is finished, just attach the map to a post in the dedicated submission thread. Make sure to follow the submission instructions specified in that thread when posting. The reason submissions are in another topic is to keep it clean and easy to follow-up on, so make sure you post any non-submission posts in this thread and not that one.

Theme:

Shape Spells
The theme of this spell session are shape spells: spells with interesting geometric properties. Those can be either a non-standard area of effect (so, something other than a circle or a line spell), projectiles following interesting trajectories (so, anything that isn't a standard war3 linear or parabolic trajectory) or just plain old eye-candy spells with effects arranged in geometric patterns (you might want to come up with something more original than drawing pentagrams on the ground).

Deadline:

The session ended on Sunday, August 9th, 2009 at 23:59 UTC
The voting has ended, check the voting thread for details.

Reward:
The winner of the session gets 20 reputation points and the award icon
displayed on the right. (Appears under your name and in your profile)

Nice! Recently I've got a really good idea for a spell, now with the opening of this contest, I'll make that idea come true. I'm not that experienced in vJass, but I'll try nonetheless.

The submissions should work with whatever will be the current patch on the deadline.

I entirely call drawing pentagrams on the ground.

I don't understand Ani ... if we can't make circles, pentagrams, parabolic functions or anything... what are you expecting us to do? What do mean by something unique?

Maybe this one Flame Phoenix?

Heh, I just feel like using the blademaster model for this one. I actually have an idea, let's see if I enter.

Just in time... for me to procrastinate and forget that this exists for the next 3 weeks

Edit: Flare v2.0, anyone?
I feel like I might have destroyed the originality of multi-target spells after that, though.

OH FUCK. Awesome idea.

Two-target spell, both point-targets. Summons an effigy of the Sun at target point, and an effigy of the moon at another. (Giant glowing circles) The two effigies fall inwards toward each other along a spiraling pathway, and when they collide something happens. Units in the wake of the sun effigy lose armor over time, those in the wake of the moon are slowed.

I'm imagining that the sun effigy causes burning effects + str\attk debuff and the moon gives a freezes + slow debuff. I'm sleepy lol! I'm not suggesting, just imagining if that would look good on your already awesome spell idea lol.
