Ever played Super Smash Bros or many other console games? They you know their fun ability build - some buttons that you combine to cast diffrent spells. Now lets say we create four heroes, to represent these buttons and if you press f1 f2 f3 f4 to build the spells, or if you use abilities or items to create this. So... I'm wondering if warcraft 3 is smooth enough (I hear people say wc3 has delay on abilities etz) to recreate this fighting type. any detail on this would be greaty appreciated. ps: didn't know wich forum this belonged to so I'm sorry if its the wrong one but I tought it required some heavy scripting so I posted here. /peace! |

Select events have a nasty delay. Cast events not as much, provided your unit's cast point equals 0.0 (it's even better to just check for when the order is issued to the unit). Ultimately, any map that relies considerably on reflexes will suffer due to WC3's network code which isn't the fastest out there (at least on bnet, such maps are still fun to play over lan). |

Maybe not the fastest, but rock-solid and does what it was built to do admirably. These days, there various hosting solutions even make reflex-dependant maps possible online, too. |

looks cool, gonna see what you cooked up there when I get home. *EDIT: (accedently added a bug icon) out of couriosity are you making a single player ormultyplayer map? |

Right now I'm planning on making it a two-player cooperative map. Few players mean you can play it with friends over bnet or even on a home lan, instead of relying on public games where someone is bound to lag and make it unplayable. You could make anything with that code, though, even a 12 player arena. |
