Sonic Heroes Part II: the Golems

I always loved Metal Sonic; he's definitely the most bad-ass of Robotnik's subordinates. This is at least the second time I've warped him into a Warcraft character (first time was Hyper Metal Henrik, and he's always at the front of my mind when I'm building a robot these days). Demon Hunter because, although the Sorceress has the correct walk animation, the Demon Hunter's frantic blading seems more appropriate.

Next up is E-123 Omega. He's pretty basic, with some minor animation additions. I wanted to do E-102 Gamma from Sonic Adventure, but his general style is just a little bit too awkward to translate. Omega has a more reasonable shape and does punch things. I'm not sure about the spiked hands -- I wanted to take him waaay back to the old days, when there were spike-balls everywhere, but it doesn't seem to have worked out too well.

I am considering, considering doing Shadow, also on the Demon Hunter.

Metal Sonic's blades are really sweet. Omega definitely looks reminiscent of him, right down to the blank stare of those robotic eyes.

These are definitely sweet. Love it all the way. Maybe do one of Eggman/one of his contraptions?

Metal sonic's blades look like they'd snap on the first dude he hit with them.

Oh, uh... Yeah, that too. Though the lightning on the back looks really cool. Just thicken the blades.

I don't think any of Robotnik's other creations can really hold a torch to Metal Sonic. Opponents from the older games don't have as much interest for me, and the newer EggRobos are just a bit dull.

I've been thinking of attempting the final boss form of E-101 Beta on the sorceress, and I am currently investigating Metal Overlord on the Dragon.

Metal Sonic has always been a deceptively fragile-looking character; I think it works. Also, get your realism outta here!

I whole-heartedly agree; I remember being so frustrated with Metal Sonic that I only played the game with Knuckles because his gliding was a cheap way to beat him xD

And I'm sure that SOMEWHERE out in the Sonic world there's an EggRobo worth recreating. Even if it's just his walker from SA2:B.

Realism has nothing to do with it. I play video games, big weapons are cool on big guys, small weapons are cool on small guys, but small weapons are gay on big guys.

Actually, Metal Sonic is the same size as Sonic... So the weapons fit. Though I agree they need to be just a bit bigger.

Alas, since SA2:B has never come to the PC (and never will), I have not played it.

I think there is enough visual interest from the animated lightning, so I disagree. He's not that big.

I don't deny; but without the game experience to give me a connection, I don't feel any particular desire to build anything from there. My eventual plan is to snag a second-hand GameCube on the cheap and get it for that, but that's probably not going to happen any time soon.

Well if the probable shipping weren't so much I'd gladly send off mine. I don't need it. I even have the game.

Don't worry yourself, I could afford the purchase tomorrow a million times over. It's more that there is nowhere in my room for a personal television for console usage; I'd have to use the lounge one and therefore only during the day...

Not to mention I would be buying the entire system for one game (well, SA2 and the Sonic Gems Collection).

I strongly disagree. Just because you throw some animated lightning into it doesn't make the weapon more fitting, let alone sized correctly.

Compared to his weapons, he is a giant wielding toothpicks.

I strongly disagree more. You're not going to change my mind; I am quite satisfied with the scale of the weapons.
