Wisp of DOOM! (And other ubercool stuff)

Okay, here's the gist of the issue:

I need to slightly imitate this old model...

Zoom (requires log in)

But with the wisp as the projectile.

Essentially what needs to happen is I need to create the trailing ring effect on top of the wisp model and I'm a bit at a loss of how to do such an ordeal since the example model utilizes two different models.

It's obviously possible, but another example that comes off the top of my head is in Desert of Exile, Rose's Guided Arrow.

I'd say set the particle emitter to XY Quad. That ought to do the trick :)

Nah, an XY quad is going to make that ring appear parallel to the ground. You just want to create a particle emitter with that shockwave texture on a long life span that gradually expands. Make sure you turn off model space so that it doesn't move with the projectile, but instead trails behind.

How do you turn off the model space exactly?

Nevermind, I figured out how to do it all, lovely. Thanks!
