I'm making a map which is basicly normal melee, except one thing: In the beginning of the game you get to choose a number between 1 and 12. This is where you choose your "race" sort off. These are the diffrent "alliances" I will put into the map 1) Human - Royal 2) Human - High Elf 3) Human - Rogues 4) Orc - Chaos 5) Orc - Trolls 6) Orc - Ogres 7) Undead - Demon 8) Undead - Skeletons 9) Undead - Shades 10) Night Elf - God of Trees 11) Night Elf - God of the Sky 12) Night Elf - God of the Afterlife . So when the game starts, the player has 1 minute to choose one of these numbers. If he types "8" he will select the Undead - Skeletons alliance, which will start him up as normal undead, but with one exception: He can now build 3 extra Skeleton Units in a special building. (think Emperor Battle for Dune) All of the alliances include 3 extra units and adds them to the already existing race. I suppose I could make 3 types of workers for each race, one that builds each of the special buildings. But I don't know how to make the selection process. Does anyone have any idea? And then how do I make so that when a player has chosen a alliance he starts out with a regular melee startup, but with the special workers for his alliance. |

Maybe you should let the players only choose the alliance in-game and their base race from the multiplayer room thingy; that'd be a lot easier to trigger, especially if you want random start locations. |

read a few tutorials on dialog's and dialog buttons. make a main menu listing the 3 alliances, and based on which alliance they pick, show them the sub menus. Thats a start |

Berry2k, That's what I really wanted, but I thought it was going to be somewhat impossible... Well, I'll look into both of your suggestions, and please keep the advices coming |

Ok, I've made this so far: Events: Map initialization Conditions: (Race of (Picked Player)) Equal to Human Actions: Game - Pause the game Comment - Choose one of these alliances by typing 1, 2 or 3 Comment - 1) High Elves Comment - 2) Royal Comment - 3) Bandits Trigger - Turn on HumanHighElves In the HumanHighElves trigger the event is if the player types "1" his paesants will be replaced by 5 new "High Elf Paesants". But how do I do that? Replacing the units? |
