Arg....I have been stuggling with this trigger for quiet a while now....I dont even know how to aproach it..... The key part of my mario map is blasting from a cannon located in one part of the map, to spot in a new section of the map. The thing is, I dont know what I would do to make it look like a unit is blasting out of a cannon, to that part of the world. Im pretty sure its possible though, maybe by changing the units hieght and possition on the map several times, only i dont know how to put my thoughts into action. Im really excited about this part of my map, so if you know anything what-so-ever on this topic, then please post away. Thanks. :ggani: |

Well, this wouldn't exactly make it look like he's flying as much as sliding... First make a small region a little bigger than your unit, this is where the destination will be. Trigger Slide (not initially on) Events Time- Every .01 Seconds Conditions Actions Use the polar offset thing to make mario go 5 units towards his forward... Sorry that I don't have a more exact action, I'm lazy. Trigger Stop (initially off) Events- Unit enters (Destination) Conditions Unit is equal to Mario. Actions Trigger- Turn off this trigger trigger- turn off (trigger slide) Trigger Launch. Events Whatever it is Conditions Whatever Actions Region- Move (Destination) to wherever you want the destination to be. Unit- Make (Mario) face (Center of Destination) over 0.00 seconds Wait- .05 seconds (it takes more than 0 seconds for Mario to actually face the direction) Trigger- Turn on (trigger Slide). Trigger- Turn on (trigger Stop) I think this should work... I'll explain it further because I'm bored. Trigger slide makes the unit quickly shoot forwards. Trigger Stop is what will make sure Mario doesn't shoot past the destination. Trigger Launch is where you actually launch Mario, making sure he is facing the destination so therefore he will stop there. |

I think its ez as long as you can see/attack the unit... just change the cannons attack bullet to like a peon and give the cannon an arc. Hope this helps |

this reminds me of that secret of mana game for super nintendo (that game was fukin pimp) and there was a cannon travel system. As the player was fired out of the cannon the camera sorta of spun around looking down in an arc and then you see your guy fall from the sky and take a hard bounce. That game was so much fun, i wanna play that shit some... wheres my SNES... ? |

Ya know, it would have been fine until you gave me the finger.....Is it possible to make guns shoot units???? LOL, that would just be crazy....But seriously, that might be the easiest way, although i know its possible to do it the way Myster Mystery said it. I think ill try both..... Theres still room for other peoples advice, so please, fire away, i need to get this thing done...... ://// |

Ok, ive tryed shooting a peon, only it resulted in mass laggyness, and nothing happend. The Cannon just somehow stood there, and did noting but freeze war3. So? Any more ideas? Or is the shooting peon thing still possible? |

Here is the idea for shooting Mario out of the Cannon, you set the create another instance of the Mario Unit, with movement type of either hover or fly. When you want to make mario shoot you will, change him with this other instance. Next you will create a bunch of triggers, that move Marios unit height up, and continue doing this until it reaches a predefined max. Once he reaches this max move him to the correspoding region, do a blackout with the Cinematic(suggestion). After this you postion the players camera to where Mario now is, and now will begin to move him downward, then change him back to Player Control with the regular unit. Heck maybe you can even have Mario jump on units with the same method. |
