Overview: ICARUS is a custom map of the zombie survival genre for WC3: The Frozen Throne created by Rising_Dusk. The map is set in the Northrend tileset and is only a zombie survival map by association - there actually isn't a single zombie in the map. In ICARUS, you are the Terran, and you fight the Zerg. This is a map I have started and restarted at least a dozen times since I first started making maps. I have always wanted to make this map, but I wanted to wait until I was talented enough to do it justice. Face it, the zombie survival genre is awful right now and needs something to raise the bar. I'm making it my personal goal to do just that. Welcome to ICARUS, enjoy your stay. Features:
Comments: The map features art made originally for Acathla by abriko and ICARUS-exclusive artwork made by unwirklich. Special thanks go out to WILL_THE_ALMIGHTY for his lovely special effects that I have put to great use in the map. I've got to thank all of those guys because without them, this map just wouldn't look quite right. Screenshots: Change Log: This doesn't exist yet. Download: I have a nearly-done and playable beta for the map, but I really don't want the public to see it until it is more playable. If you happen to know me on BNet, feel free to send me a buzz and I am sure I can arrange a playtest. This thread is mostly right now to generate interest in the map before its release sometime later this year. |

Or so big it goes straight to the stomach? ;D EDIT: S'pose I should make this at least slightly non-spam. Looks awesome, haven't played in a while. I'll have to hit you up next time you're on. |

Does the title have anything to do with the greek icarus myth? Anyway, it looks pretty good |

I like the name, though, because it's not like "ZOMBIE ONSLAUGHT v6.66" or whatever; it's curious and makes you go "Wonder why it's called that." |

"Humongous" or "Extroadinary" would sound better than "Gastronomical" imo. The project looks promising though. |

Too much emphasis is being put on gastronomical, so I changed it. |

Have the 6 class types been confirmed yet? I think a lot of us (including me) would love to see them in the screenshots :D Also, is there a predetermined objective or the map, or as of right now all you do is kill onslaughts of the zerg? |

The map will consist of "missions" that task your team to accomplish different objectives while under constant attack by different Zerg strains. Also, yes, the 6 classes have been 'confirmed' at this stage in development. Guess I should update the first post. |

I hope the terrans don't get shredded in two hits this time round :P, glad to see that the map has progressed nicely. |
