Anyone else experimenting with Impale and find that it must have a ground target? I'm trying to use it for anti-air only and it doesn't seem to A) Target air units or B) Effect air units in its path. |

some time ago i tried to use it in combination with lightning-orb, i always thaught that the orb was the problem, anyway i think it's clear, cause throwing flying units up seems strange, doesn't it? and I've read some time ago that units with a too large distance to the graound crash the game |

Yea, I was hoping to use it as an easy wave-stun ability; I don't care about the altitude change at all. |

wave stun without altitude change (new word... ) --> triggerI've some doubts about impale beeing a "real" stun (abort channel/etc.) and not only something that reduces the targets ms to 0 |

It's like shockwave, breath of fire, etc; changing the which targets allowed simply only change which targets you can "click the ability on". For example, if you change shockwave to allied units only, you can either target the ground or target an allied unit(you won't be able to click on an enemy unit with the ability). However, it will still only affect enemy ground units. So changing the targets allowed only changes which targets you can click on with impale, it is hardcoded to only hit ground units. Another issue with impale is that if a unit is stunned with impale, you can't have another unit "restun it" with an impale based ability(it will give an error message saying unit is already impaled last I remembered). This is the case even if you set airtime to 0. |

Impale also changes the facing of the affected units, memory serving... |

Interestingly enough, Impale also seems to be hardcoded on targets for the act of clicking the ability. |

impale has dozens of negative effects and should be never used. (thats why in dota it's remade for example.) |

Well, it's plainly not going to be used for my purposes. What are these dozens of effects you mention? |
