so, Christmas came early and i got a hold of 2010. problem is some things aren't working in it. is any one familiar with it to answer these questions: 1: how do i turn on shade selected, some times it works but most of the time when i click it doesn't shade the polygon and as soon as i move the camera any that are shown disappear; seems to work better when selecting large quantities. 2: how do you turn on 2 sided faces? in 8 i just unchecked back face cull and it was fine... i realize that most of you are poor college students but maybe someone has gotten lucky |

I think I've fixed both problems, i had the drivers set to use DX 10 and when i set it back to 9 it appears to work fine. not really sure why but file for future reference i guess. |

Well, I think that in my opinion 3ds max is easier to learn, because last year I have been using 3ds max for like 5 years and then tried to learn Maya but it was really all confusing for me (the interface and the tools and commands). So i just continued to do 3ds max since the programs don't differ too much. |

Oh I have same problems with shading, well I have problems with shading in 2010, dont know if they are same but.. I have windows 7 64 bit and using 64bit max. But when I export to wc3 shading isnt quite good. I think I didnt have any problems with previous versions. BTW people say that is maya easier to learn for starters. |

Hehe, you may consider this spam, but how large your income has to be to get 3ds max 2010 as a 'christmas present'? ;) |
