Fyre Daug- Don't expect a reply instantly... Not everyone knows the answer to this, and you should just be patient until someone who does comes along and answers your question... |

as far as i know, there is no limit. what do you use to import things into your map? and dont forget, saving in WE deletes all the files in your map. |

Come now. It's one thing to bump if you can't find what you're looking for and nobody is answering, but getting frustrated after 2 hours is silly. Many people only search the site once a day or so. And there's an icon that tells us which posts we haven't read, so there's no danger of missing one, even if it's on the next page. Moreover, searching for "mpq*" and "limit" in the search page got me a thread giving an answer to your problem almost instantly. I'm taking five minutes to answer this - the least you can do is reciprocate. For the record, I have little knowledge of the mpq format, but I believe the answer in the post I described above is incorrect, however. If memory serves me right, there's some element of the mpq generated by WE that limits it (to 64? 128?). I believe this is an artificial limit that has to do with some header information in the file, not with the mpq format itself. If you can mess with this, you could raise the limit of files allowed. Personally, though, I have no idea how you'd do this, or how you'd generate an empty mpq that can hold more files. So thinking about it a sec, I might have a workaround: Try copying war3patch.mpq, and in winmpq, deleting all of the files (but one?). Then manually add in all of the files in the w3m file, along with all of the other files. Finally, change this to a w3m file. This probably is NOT the best way to do this (try looking for Tech' on irc - he knows a lot about the ampq format), but I suspect it might work. |

i beleive the limit is 1024, but it can be chanegd with winmpq |

Guest | Theres no limit as far as I can tell. I tested it by dumping misc files in the map and it still worked. You have to make a new mpq file then dump your map files in there then change the heading or war3 will not recognize it as a map. |

Well I found out that the limit for regular map files is 64 (including the map files themselves) Just FYI |

try getting that campaign installer if wc3campaigns still ahs it for download. then you can just add all you shit to that mpq and you map will jsut look in that mpq for the fiels. i dont think patch.mpq has a limit, if it does, thats pretty damn stupid... |

well the main war3.mpq has over 7000 files (I think) so no theres no limit, its jsut built into the map (!) so stupid. |

do you think WE-no limits might change the max amount of files that you can put into a map? |

Doubt it, its not very good - UMSWE is the best (gj scio) |

If you have actually hit the limit, make a new archive with winmpq with a larger hash table, copy all of the files into it, and rename it to .w3m. Depending on the ver of war3, you may need to hex edit a very small chunk of the mpq to let war3 support it. |
