Guest | Maybe I'm just stupid or dense, but i downloaded USMWE 3.6 and clicked on the editor that I want...and NOTHING happened. I get the hourglass for 3 seconds and no more. What do I need to get this thing to work? |

you need wc3 installed and to make sure that the registry key... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\InstallPath is correct |

and if you dont have the War3cd in nothing will happen |

Guest | Ah, its much more complicated than it needs to be, with thes verisons AC, BD, RT and crap. Just make one super advanced one, it confuses me. Now, which one is the most powerful for the elite modder? |
| 02-02-2003, 02:25 AM | #7 |
it depends on what you want to do, TM,RD,AC and the regular one all have the same triggers restrictions are as follows regular : creeps are on their original tilesets RD : Doodads cannot be made massive or tiny; creeps are on their original tilesets AC: none TM : doodads cannot be made massive or tiny NB : Doodads cannot be made massive or tiny; creeps are on their original tilesets; no new triggers so i GUESS AC is the uber one you want, but thats only if u dont mind the doddads not beable to be random scaled when u place them, otherwise TM is what you want. (TM = Terrain Master) that was the one i had planned on being the most popular. |

Guest | Blek... With all those limitations, why not just use the normal editor? BTW, I haven't used it yet, so if that caim of as incredibly stupid... |

The limitations are within the new features. NONE of the UMSWE versions have less functionality than the original WE. So they are better at all.:D I like them. |

thx, im glad to hear it |

is there a function for getting the agility, strength and intelligence of a hero? like set variable equal to the intelligence of a certain hero? cuz that would be appreaciated very much, and i figure if u can set that stuff, u could also check it |
| 02-04-2003, 05:47 PM | #13 |
yea thats what i figured too, but blizzard never made a function that could do that, so u have to keep track of it in the map:nono: |

Guest | I figured it out. I was trying it at work and I did not have the CD here. It occured to me after posting here that without it the WE wouldn't work. Just stupid me. Nice upgrade to the WE. Good job Scio. And to all those who would post negatively...keep this in mind: ALL efforts to aid the WC3 community with no expectation of compensation should be APPRECIATED and RESPECTED even if you don't like it. At least they did SOMETHING to help us out without asking something in return. If that concept is hard for you to understand...then I say F*** you!! Just my humble opinion. |

1) :D 2) There would be always people who don't appreciate the work of others regardless of the amount of time they used. In my optinion these people should try to do it better (in most cases they can't do better). If they can't do better they should shut up. |
