Hello, everyone. How is everything? I want to ask if it is possible to make a unit become hero instead of paste all the units properties one by one to an custom hero? Thankyou \Thanks for the help. I appreciated it :) See ya all. |

If you have the Newgen editor, you can copy-and-paste a unit and set the first letter of its new four-letter code to be capitalized. That's how War3 decides it's a hero. I'm not even making this up. I couldn't come up with behavior as weird as the World Editor if I tried. If you're not using Newgen, then yea, you gotta copy-and-paste the individual fields you want into a hero. It honestly doesn't take very long either way. |

If you have the Newgen editor and you try to copy-and-paste a unit, you'll see what I mean when it pops up a window asking you what four-letter code you want. |

WOOOOOOOW, This is FREAKING CONVINENT! ioi you do not know how long I have been suffering the million-C&P ioi and...will it cause error in game in any way? Thanks a lot. BTW, do you know why there is one file is detacted by my Symantec as a Backdoor virus? Its the pipe.dll that location is jassnewgenpack5d\bin\ Do you know why? ![]() |

It's an error, or some such; it's certainly not a virus. |

Because JNGP acts like a virus (hacks wc3 to bypass it's retarded limitations) but isn't. |

Hello, Owenalacaster: What is the error? You mean the pipe.dll file or unit convert to a hero by changing letter? Does it affect normal function of GenWE if pipe.dll is deleted? Anyone knows about it? Thank you! |

That file is a harmless virus that is supposed to be there, but if you delete it your NewGen WE won't work. I just tell my anti-virus to permanently ignore it. The error of which he spoke is not related to the hero/unit question. |

Thanks for your reply, Fluff: Its harmless...but does it has the potential to use by hacker to break my firewall defense? |

No, unless there is a unknown vulnerability in that dll. |

Thanks for your reply, Touko: Therefore...its risk is unknown at this moment. I will keep it quarantined in my symantec then, cause GenWE seems work fine while the dll is quarantined. :) |
