Is there any specific reason for unplayable maps like Azeroth's Arcane Arena to linger in the maps-section...?

all returnbug maps act in same way.

Because you don't toss out the vinyl when you get an iPod.

Same reason that when the zoning laws change we don't demolish everything there. They're grandfathered in, they worked when they were submitted and that's what counts. If the author is still around, I'm sure they're trying to fix it, if not, oh well.

Haha, I really think we shouldn't approve maps which are pre 1.24, its been a while since the H2I bug has been replaced / fixed / changed and if the author still wants it to be approved, he can just fix it anyway.

I know, I meant we should remove it and put it to pending again.

Are you volunteering for it?

I'm pretty sure I saw Rising_Dust somewhere say they weren't going to do that. A lot of those maps are just really old and their authors left years ago.

Yep, that's what I remember, too. If you can find the person who made the map and they would give you permission to update the map, then yes, you can update it to work with patch 1.24b+. In every other case where you cannot obtain the original author's permission, we can't do anything about it.

Of course, there are always a few... "underhanded" tactics you could use... However, in no way are any of us allowed to redistribute a map that is not allowed by the original creator of the map. Even if they made the map years ago and are no longer around.

this is stupid and illogical rule.

update != change.
