I am having a problem gettin edited .txt files to work in my map. I use WinMPQ, and i edited some spells in AbilityData.slk, and it works fine, but when i change stuff in the .txt files (UndeadAbilityStrings.txt for example) such as the name, and nothing happens! I import all the files into Units\. I must be doing it right because the spells work. Any thoughts to what mite be the problem?

1. warcraft 3 is case sensitive i think
2. maybe you edited the .txt wrongly

I seem to have the weird bug that happens to many people. The only way the .txt files work is if u restart the map. IS there any fix to this at all or is restarting the map the only solution?

The problem is the loading screen. For some reason you have to restart the map if the loading screen is not set to "default" (custom screens do not work) . You can find the settings in the world editor under SCENARIO>LOADING SCREEN> then under loading screen graphics select "use default screen"

Yeah that's what it is, using a custom loading screen (for some reason) tells war3 to look in the MPQ and skip map imports for txt's

The Loading Screens, however, are for the campaigns, really... which may explain it

Most people dont know that you DO NOT NEED default screen. You can also use a Preload Trigger.

dethroze: copy the changes here... that we can take a look at it
