I know it's not possible through conventional means. The map editor is capable of saving units to a file. Has anyone figured out how to edit those files and turn a normal unit into a hero? Or turn a unit into a hero by some other means. I've got an RPG map (http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?p...28#post1116528) that's going to require every unit the AI controls to be a hero and really don't want to have to create a hero for every single one of them by hand. :( |

if you are using JNGP, when you copy and paste object editor data, you can specify the raw-code you wish to use. If you make the first letter a capital, it will make the unit a hero. So, it just a simple copy+paste each unit with a capital letter to make them heroes. I don't see why you couldn't edit an export of your unit data and make all the rawcodes begin with a capital letter, but I know the object editor pasting will work. |
