I've tried to import team color and team glow skins and they never seem to work, so I was wondering if they need to be written to a different path than the one they are listed under in the .mpq similar to the way cliff skins must be used. Mostly I want to do this for the team glow, it's not an effect I really desire on any unit in my projects, and I would much rather just illiminate it universally through a few 8x8 skins than having to edit each hero I plan on using :) |

As I recall, it's not possible to overwrite team colours in multiplayer maps. Single player, I'm not sure aboot. (You can always build a custom patch mpq if needed, for single player.) As for eliminating glow globally... IIRC, that may actually be possible. I have NFI how, mind you. (Note that some textures like the hero glow are possibly used in weird places.) I suggest a healthy google search. (Use the link in my signature to only get results from this site.) |

Team colour needs a patch MPQ. You can't replace them with actual textures, though, they just get squished into a single-colour mush. Team glow replacements work in the editor but not in-game, in my experience; again, need a patch MPQ (but textures do survive). |

Wow, knew something was up with team color but never figured it would be that "testy" thanks for the help anyways. MPQ patch seems a bit extreme I did get the team glow to work once in-game when i set the team color of player 1 to solid black, (which was the same color I set the team glow to, so it would be invisible). Surprisingly worked for all players as well, even though I left their team color at it's default (but changed there glow to black as well). Other than that it is only working in the editor :( |
