Can I please get a copy of the JNGP license, from the author of the software? |

Theres no single author of JNGP. It was first built by Vex, AFAIR. Then Pitzermike took over development. Currently, MindWorX is in charge of updating JNGP. However, JNGP combines work from many people (Vexorian, Pipedream, Pitzermike, MindWorX, and a few more). |

I had meant the NewGen-specific software, not the others (JassHelper, TESH, etc). Sorry, I should have been more specific. |

AFAIK (I may be wrong), there is no NewGen-specific software; JNGP is just a package, nicely wrapped up for simple installation. Maybe you are referring to grimoire? |

No, I have the Grimorie license. My problem is there is a NewGen mod which may or may not be stolen, and I'm trying to get the license to see if the guy who made this mod have the rights to do so. |

> and I'm trying to get the license to see if the guy who made this mod have the rights to do so. Aaand... why exactly do you need that? You're going to sue him if he doesn't have the license and just stole it but made everything much easier? |

Because he wants to allow modified JNGP's on hive. Even if it's not illegal, I wont allow it. Grimoire exists for a reason, people. |

JNGP is made of the following basic components: - Grimoire (and all it's sub projects, such as war3err, warmachine, etc.) - JASS Helper - RtC - Risc's colourizer - UMSWE - GrimExt (Integrated in to the Grimoire package a while ago) - PJASS (Also included with JASS Helper) - More SFMPQ DLLs than I care to count. (ShadowFlare's MPQ library) Girmoire is GPL (but it seems to not actually comply with the GPL, bringing that in to question.) JH is Zlib SFMPQ, PJASS have some kind of FOSS liscences. I don't think RtC actually has a licence. The same for Risc's, UMSWE, and GrimExt. (GrimExt does not seem to be in the SourceForge project, which means it is just distributed with Grimoire, not necessarily licenced the same.) JNGP has no licence itself. Distributing modified versions is therefor not legal, without permission. Neither is redistributing the existing version, without permission. Who's permission? I have no idea. There are so many cocks in that particular pot it would take a month to sort it all out. Of course, considering the heritage of most of these tools, and the current state of things, no one really seems to give a fuck about licencing issues. |

I don't really care if it's allowed or not. I just want to see if what you had is right. |

If blizzard allowed it for maps such as DotA then i see no problems using it. Stop bitching if it's right or not |

What? I'm not talking about a map... |

I can only say that none of the authors would be happy to see a version with extra GUI functions (other than the missing ones from common.j which UMSWE already imports). We've learned from WEU that this is not a good thing. |

All the mod did was add AdicHelper. |
