Due that SCII is near to come, I was thinking that this site could have a forum for that. Would you like it? Open to discussion. |

I guess. |

Hell no, Starcraft 2 sucks. It's not fantasy and the hard counter system is made of shit. warcraft 3 is way more awesome. |

Uh... sc2campaigns anyone? |

I don't support opening a SC2 forum. Off Topic is fine for that discussion at this point. If we want to pursue SC2 modding with any rigor, then we should vouch for a second, sister-site to WC3C. (As previously theorized, SC2C or something) |

Sorry, SC2C.net and SC2C.com are already taken... checking other options... |

The name is unimportant, really. I don't think Vex or Tim have any plans for such a thing to happen any time soon anyway. I'm merely pointing out that such a venue is far more favourable than opening a SC2 forum on a WC3 website. |

I voted "no", as the name of this site implies, this is a forum intended for wc3 and not any other game. |

I support the creation of a single forum to discuss StarCraft 2 topics, if only for the sake of organization and to allow Off-Topic to continue its perpetual parade of canned meats unabated. |

I don't think so, until the Galaxy Editor comes out for use, we shouldn't (appropriately or not) overreact on this hype. See what the G.E. can do, then you can always just open it later on. Drools and dreams alike (for mapping or just pure gameplay purposes) shouldn't be made into a valid forum until confirmed into the full game. A sister site as Dusk said would be fine, but not until SC2's actually out. And if it's on before that, it's not for the sake of providing SC2's game data. (as in; we shouldn't put on potentially false data such as "the Zerg's upcoming unit" or something) We should be as before wholly dedicated to mapping and coding just like we were in wc3c. |

Have you seen the offtopic threads? Some people have started exploring the modding capabilites of SC2. |

We don't need a sister site; I think a fair quantity of the regulars here are interested in SC2 and would like to discuss the game with other members within the community. We don't need an entire other site for that narrow aim, as a single forum would be sufficient to accommodate a niche interest. There ought not to be any fear of releasing false reports. While we explore Galaxy and game data, we discuss what we find, we figure out how things work. It's one-part empirical investigation, one-part tinkering. If anything, what is available to use is barebones; it's enough to make the Beta work. Neither the object data nor the Galaxy API available to us is complete. Critters don't have models, non-melee units Blizzard said would be available in the editor are absent from the game data, the Galaxy API is obviously incomplete and consists mostly of natives and functions for handling AI and running melee games. So those of us exploring the game data aren't going to find any "upcoming units". Probably the only two things I could tell you that you wouldn't already know from reports on the Beta is that there is a Rich Vespene Geyser which returns 10 gas per trip and the game supports 4 resource types: Minerals, Vespene, Terrazine, and Custom. There is no good reason to refrain from acting until the commercial release of SC2. |
