Can't install the patch 1.24e

Hello!

I tried to update my wc3 to the latest patch, but it fails.
It waits for Warcraft to close, but it fails and so it can not update.

I checked with ProcessExplorer whether the patcher is correct, but it failed.
The game closes before the patcher starts, so the game is closed.

May this be the problem?
Reinstalling Wc3 does not fix the problem.
Also trying to install the full patch from 1.00 to 1.24e doesn't work either.

My Wc3 is german, this may also be a problem.
(By the way, I can not access to Westfall, is this something serious as well?)

had the same prob (also german wc3); fixed it via bruteforce method:
downloaded all patches, reinstalled wc (improtant: backup) and installed ALL patches (all versions, all languages), till one worked, now t've got a working german wc3 1.24e version...

Be wise, download WC3 version in English via torrent, use your serials and no more problem.

use battle.net download.

This will only let him download the German version.
Best way to get the English version is to let someone with an English client log you in with his b.net account and download the english downloader.
Simply downloading the downloader from another source will not work. Blizzard somehow authorizes downloads, probably using IP.

Then just download the patches via battle.net. When on vista/7 running as admin often fixes issues like this too.

German = bad! Especially in modding games.

Have you tried running the patch installer (as admin) from the wc3 folder before actually opening wc3?
When installing Jass NewGen Pack last week it always told me that another instance of the WE is already running. Running as admin fixed it. Running as admin = teh shit!
