Hi, I'm just starting out in modeling for WC3, and working from a tutorial located here at http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/3...-tools-107544/ In trying to download the VertexModify program, I hit a snag. I downloaded the program, unzipped it, and when I tried to run it got the following error message: "Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" There's been another post on this forum by someone who had the same problem and the response was to download the 'comdlg32.ocx file and place it in the C:\Windows\System folder. I did this, and it didn't work; still get the same error message. I'm using Windows Vista, and I don't have a C:\Windows\System folder exactly; I've got C:\Windows\system, with the "s" not capitalized. I don't know if this makes a difference, but putting the file in that folder does nothing. Please help? |

I could only really suggest you to re-download the tool from Oinkerwinkle's Official Website(don't be scared by the design of the site; the program, and the site, are really really old). The problem could be caused by Windows Vista. Back in 2004, when Vertex Modifier was created, Windows Vista was non-existent so support for the Operational System could have simply been never added. |
