Hero Adventures Chasers (working title) - DEMO version ~ by TheWye Summary & Features: Hero Adventures Chasers is a 3 players action-RPG map which features a unique movement and combat system. Each player controls a hero depending on their player slot: -Red player controls the Dwarven Battlemonger -Blue player controls the Night Elf Shadowwalker -Teal player controls the Human Spellweaver Heroes The heroes in this map are like the ones in regular Warcraft maps where they could gain experience and level up and eventually learn skills as the game progresses. The difference is that the heroes in this map doesn't only learn skills, but they also learn something called "Combat Techniques". Hero skills are regular skills which can be either active or passive skills like the ones that you usually find in Warcraft 3. Combat techniques however, is a bit different. Combat techniques allows players to modify their hero's combo which is used in combat. As the game progresses, the heroes will get stronger and stronger and learn more combat techniques that are stronger and deadly. The damage and speed of the techniques depends directly on the heroes' attributes. Movements Unlike regular maps, the movement of each hero is controlled by keyboard arrows of the owning player. Mouse clicks are reserved for combat where player clicks on a point on the ground to attack to that direction. Characters can also perform a special movement called "dashing" by double tapping on the keypad on a certain direction, which causes the character to move quickly at a limited range to that direction. This is useful because most of the enemies' attacks in the game are avoidable, which makes the game much more dynamic and action-ish. Combo This map also features a unique combat system which allows players to configure their own combo moves. These combos can be either deadly and effective or lame and useless depending on how the player configures it. Combos are constructed with Combat techniques. Some combat techniques have special effects if used correctly in a combo. For this combo system, a technique multiboard is provided in the game to show the stats of the current techniques and combo. Team: Just me.. TheWye - I DO EVERYTHING!! Progress: Still deciding if I want to release this as a Demo version or a full version. Misc: Here are the links to online video tutorials for the movement and combat system of the game: Tutorial 1: Movement and Controls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuwd-3tYF0Q Tutorial 2: Interface - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfWS5...eature=related Tutorial 3: Combat Demonstration - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RF4B...eature=related Note: I am still working on the balancing of the heroes and enemies so the game might be a little slow or tough... This game is supposed to be played and is balanced for a 3-player game.. so.. it WILL be tough to play this game in single player even after the balancing is done. Anyway, please feel free to comment on anything. Another Note: I released this map open-sourced, so feel free to modify or take or use any materials in this map. But please just make sure that you notify me before using it so I would know. A PM will be nice. |
