Good news everyone, BNet will be region locked, they'll be no chat-rooms, no LAN. In addition to things already mentioned. Quote:
Also irony. This might be GG for me, region locking is an evil, murderous thing that needs to die. In a big fire. |

Seriously they are screwing that game more and more every day ... |

At least I can be offline when I'm offline, that's one boon. As long as it doesn't lock me to being called "Local Player"... The rest is pingas. Region-locking is a complete disaster. We're not all pro-gamers; maybe we don't mind a tiny little bit of latency to play with our favourite friends across the pond? |

Heh, I posted that link in the channel last night. Frank Pearce was being a bit of a dick. "Do you really want chat channels?" I quit the whole mess last week. I've been hoping there might be some sign of improvement, like the removal of filtering or region-locks. But no, woe unto the game, for sealed is its fate. |

Eh, there'll be chats for clans and groups, so the only thing I see missing are those public chat rooms. I never cared about them anyway, can't say that I'm going to miss them... Region lock is a big fail of course. |

BTW clan support comes with Heart of the Swarm. That is the second expansion IIRC. |

HoS is the first expansion. I don't really care at all about chat channels, I mean the feature has been hideous in both SC1 and Wc3. Region locking though is completely stupid. The game and most of what's correctly-implemented in bnet 2.0 are fine and great stuff actually, but I feel that blizzard's dev team doing STUPID things like this and also not adding LAN will at least make the whole thing a lot less pleasant. I am not really excited about having to spend 360 dollars on a whole game... With the rename of 'expansions' to 'games', the removal of LAN and the thing in bnet that forces each cdkey to a single account, that's the minimum amount I would have to pay to legally play at home with Mc!... Makes you wonder why wouldn't people just pirate and send it to heck. |

Yeah, let´s steal from them, that´ll show who they are messing with |

We could go raid Blizzard HQ and nab the source code; I think that'd be more fun. |

Region locking? Fuck, my clan is 99% from Europe and Brazil. Oh god... I am going to be pooled in with korea, china, japan etc. All the maps will require language packs... Does this mean our maps will have very restricted circulation? The game is now insanely unfriendly towards new maps, and making friends. You can't add a new friend ingame, and after the game 90% of the time the scoreboard doesn't load. No channels means no clan chat, so we don't even get clans right? Your new map will literally only be played by you, and friends within the region, so good luck getting it up without botted help. So far in the beta it takes about 5 times as long to get a full house in a map on page 2, and you NEED friends to get one on page 3 to full house. Why are they doing this to us? T_T |

@Vex: The word expansion is incorrect, since they are independent IIRC. Quote:
Don't play this game, don't pirate this game. Wait for a year or two and if they loosen up their policy then buy it. Trust me. I got wc3 for about 30% of the original price. |

No, they are expansions. And groups and clans (including chat) come BEFORE the first expansion. Quote:
I'm glad that I only have plans for single player maps atm... |
