Hi, does anyone know what exactly the Stats - Priority parameter do (it is available for units and heroes in the Object Editor)? I've read somewhere that it controls how likely hostile units will be to attack the unit. For example, 20 would mean that it is preferable over other targets whereas 1 means it will be the last to be attacked. I've tried to test it in-game: I've placed a Mountain King (hero) and a Footman (priority 6) and a Sorceress (priority 8) nearby but the Mountain King always attacked the Footman... |

priority used by AI only. |

Priority determines which unit is shown in the portrait when a group of units is selected. Ie if you select a group of footman and a paladin, the paladin will always have his abilities and portrait shown. (higher numbers = greater priority) Generally units with more spells and activate abilities have a higher priority, as it makes more sense they should be readily available. The most powerful hero in a map should have the highest priority as well, it sort of sucks when summoned units come out on top when you select a group with your hero in it. Starcraft had something similar, except all the Terran units actually had a military ranking, which was pretty awesome. |

Pretty sure Formation Rank determines that, not Priority. |

Formation rank determines how units will orientate themselves when marching to a destination, the lower the rank the further in front they will be. The highest formation rank any units have is 4, which most workers have, so they will stay as far in the back as possible. This value typically ranges from 0 to 3 depending on the survivability or max range of a units, but has no effect on which unit actually appears on top when you select a group of units. Unit priority determines which unit comes out on top when you select a group, which is higher on spellcasters and heros. |
