Someone around here must have some model/skin resources that has to fit the niche of a Bard/Singer/Songstress. There are the ones that are available at the Hive, but I would prefer not using them (I will if I absolutely have to). Can anyone help me out in finding such an elusive resource? Kudos and props to anyone who can at least find something similar. |

Perhaps I could see what I can do, unless you find a better option. Just one thing, are there any specifics you need? E.g, race, instrument, animations? Is it supposed to look WC3-ish or something more modern? |

Thank you for your interest, deolrin. Yes, I would prefer a unit that matches Warcraft (having something more modern would be... interesting). The race of the unit only matters so long as it's a unit that doesn't appear to have a lot of health. The animations it needs are an attack animation similar to playing the instrument because their normal attack is just music notes, a spell animation (of some kind), and a channel animation of them playing their instrument. A victory animation would be a bonus (I'm trying to use as many units as I can who can strike a victory pose). I am thinking that the theme for this hero is similar to the Songstress that one would find in FFX-2 (random trivia: In the original Japanese version, the name of the class is Pop Idol/Star). The primary aspect of the hero is to channel effects constantly with the power of song. This can be damage, healing, good/bad buffs, more quirky things, etc. The song abilities have no cooldown and one may switch between all of them freely (provided that you got them for your hero and can cover the mana cost). They would have a few damage-dealing abilities so people who play the hero don't get very bored and can fight if they don't need to play/sing. However, this would mean you have to invest points that you would have used in channeled effects. The Bard/Singer/Songstress is a passive-active hero, if that makes sense. It seems like every Bard or singing hero I come across in any ORPG map is completely passive. They're either completely rigged because their effects are too good at high levels or they're incredibly useless because their passive abilities don't do enough. I'm trying to keep things in balance while creating a hero that has an active role being a more passive member. Since all players are limited to one of each hero, teams need to stay diverse and each hero needs to have a special niche in the party and earn their keep for the team. |
