HELP! A few questions about getting started, compability etc etc

So, me and a few friends have decided to start working on a map. What I need to fix for us is this:

(1) A downloadable wc3+tft, does not have to be latest patch depending on (2). I know this is easy to find, but I'm sure many of you know which one is compatible with what etc etc(Simply: What shit to DL). I think we have all bought the games at least one time each, so don't complain about stealing stuff from Blizzard the almighty creator of this wonderful game and editor.

(2)A version of WE unlimited or another editing tool that's an improved WE. What i've found and tried so far is not working, if it's because of the latest WC3TFT patch or not I don't know, I am clueless.

(3)Other tools, that you know are compatible with (1) and (2). Tools that we will have great use of. Modelling, skinning and jass tools are not needed, yet, so I'm not really sure what I'm looking for but since there's over 100 fanmade programs I guess there's something we might want.


The idea is to simply make a RPG game out of a wc3 map, we need at least a working WE unlimited or something similar, since the limitations of WE are too many(map size, terraining, object stuff etc etc).

Well, my NewGEn with WEU is working with the latest wc3 version, but you cannot use all advanced triggers since few of them is bugged due to latest patch fixes.

(1) Just saying "oh I bought the game" doesn't really help, anyone can say that. Just don't ask us about this stuff, google is your friend.
(2) Most people just use NewGen these days. If you want to use vJass, you should also get the latest JassHelper since the one that comes with NewGen is outdated.
(3) I don't think you really need anything else.

If you still have your cd keys you can DL from blizzard legally.
