I have a problem. Certain special effect models no longer appear ingame, they do however work fine in-editor. Any model with birth as its only animation will not play if created via trigger or used as a projectile. (Thunder Clap, IncinerateDeath, NeutralBuildingExplosion, basically all abitiy effects that are by default, played once.) This applies to both custom and standard special effects, hence its not an issue of models not working. This applies to all maps, hence its not a specific map issue. Have I flicked on some hidden display setting? or did I corrupt my wc3? Ive tried a reinstall, but it did not work. |

i'm not totally sure i have this right so why don't i rephrase what you said and you tell me if thats the problem: when you're in the wc3 map editor's data editor, you pick out a texture for something and when you place it in the editor it shows up but then as soon as you start the game its nowhere to be seen (but is still selectable / usable) you've only noticed this happening in games you're making -- NOT in games others have made if so: yup that sounds about right. when using models with non periodic animations you will encounter a few difficulties. this is expected, your wc3 install is fine. in general you only need to worry about corruption after modifying the wc3 files. which is hard to do from within the editor... |

Sadly that's not the case. All maps, self made or otherwise are affected. To give perspective of of my problem, all non periodic animations do not show at all. I can create a blank map, place a single Mountain King as the map's sole unit, no triggers, no imports, no custom object data. Ingame when Thunder Clap is used, no special effect is played. |

You know, I actually have a sort of similar weird issue. Special effects that are placed at a point on the ground will sometimes not appear at all. It doesn't seem to be map specific, but that's why most stuff in Y4 is a dummy unit rather than just a special effect. TL;DR I don't know what your problem is but maybe WC3 is just janky on modern computers. |

Sadly, even if I use dummy units as special effects, it doesn't show either. I did some research and I found a total of 1 instance where something similar happened to someone back in 2010. He never got a satisfactory solution. Sucks really... EDIT: Heres the thread http://www.thehelper.net/threads/spe...iggers.157209/ |
